reference to 3rd year B.Arch Students - TCE arch dept. Appropriate size and

Elevator Shaft dimensional details for Otis Gen2 Passenger Elevators with
Machine Room & Headroom & Jhonson standard elevator (Enduronic Model) for
service lifts.

Note: Shaft dimensions given by the vendors are from finished surfaces of walls.
Plastering thickness has to be added. There may be some slight dimensional
inaccuracies as construction error too in a high rise building. So a linear
measurement of 75mm is added to each dimension towards plaster thickness &
construction error.

A. Otis "Gen2" model (latest technology) passenger elevators:

Width Depth

1) 6 passenger capacity (1600+75) 1675mm (1400+75) 1475mm

2) 8 passenger capacity (1850+75) 1925mm (1650+75) 1725mm

3) 10 passenger (1900+75) 1975mm (1700+75) 1775mm

4) 13 passenger (2200+75) 2275mm (1700+75) 1775mm

5) 15 passenger (1700+75) 1775mm (2750+75) 2825mm

Total height of Headroom + Machine room from last landing/floor: 6600mm

Lift Pit depth: 1600mm

B. Jhonson "Enduronic" model passenger elevator (please note that this is also a
passenger elevator low cost model - hence it is suggested for service elevator -
there is no special category as "service elevator") - 6 passenger capacity is quite
optimal for service elevators for Hotels.

6 passenger (1550+75) 1625mm (1550+75) 1625mm

Total height of Headroom + Machine Room from last landing/floor: 6850mm

Lift pit depth: 1600mm
