Letter of Motivation for M.A.

in International Security Management

Dear Sir or Madam,

I consider myself fortunate as I found a degree which is compatible with today’s business world. As
my bachelor degree was majored in Economics, I found this master’s program relevant to my degree.
But there are other factors what drive me to apply for this degree which explores several security
challenges. For instance, nowadays business sectors face a lot of security issues which make this master
program significant. Another reason for my application is that the uniqueness of this program. This
program, which is rigorously focused on ‘security management’ on international perspectives, cannot
be offered to us by any of our home universities. Besides, in my home country there are a lot of business
sectors and NGOs face security challenges on regular basis but there is a lack of manpower to tackle
these challenges. If I have the adequate knowledge in International Security Management, I believe I
will be able to present myself in any national and international organizations which are required to
have professional figures who can deal with security related issues. I believe this program will make
me more informed and more flexible towards security related issues in business sector, this is why I
would love to be a student of this program.

My professional goal is to pursue a career as a security analyst or a security manager. In my country,

career in these fields are highly admired. But, here, to become one is almost impossible. As I mentioned
above, a program like this cannot be found in our home universities because of its uniqueness. In my
home country, there are employees and students struggle to deal with security challenges, with the
gained knowledge from this program, as a social contribution I will be able to help them with seminars
and conferences.

After reading the course contents of this Master Program in International Security Management, I came
to know that these courses match perfectly with my career choice. “Module 8: Information, Knowledge
Protection and Cybersecurity” will be one of my favorite modules because of my fondness about
computer technology.

As I understand, this program is very competitive, attracting highly motivated students and there will
be fierce competition to get letter of acceptance but at the same time I think I am ready and my academic
result backs my claim. I believe I have explained my career goal in clear context and also stated the
key attributes of my interest in this master’s program. I hope you would like it and evaluate my
application with appropriate consideration. I look forward to your positive response.
