Facts

Petitioner – Rolando Saa filed a complaint for disbarment against respondent – Atty.
Freddie A. Venida. Petitioner alleged that Atty. Venida’s act of filing two cases against
him was oppressive and constituted unethical practice. Respondent failed to comply
with the order-resolution to comment on the complaint filed by the Petitioner which
prompted the court to issue show cause why Respondent should not be held in
contempt,

Ruling

Yes, Respondent – Atty Freddie A Venida violated Code of Professional Responsibility


He violated Canon 12, Rules 1.03 and 12.04. As a lawyer he had the responsibility to
follow legal orders and processes. Public Confidence in the law and in lawyers may be
eroded by the irresponsible and improper conduct of a member of the Bar. Every lawyer
should act and comport himself in a manner that promotes public confidence in the
integrity of the legal profession.
