PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Building Capital (4/2010 – 12/2019): investment manager

Building Capital is an investment fund with focus on financing the development of residential
real estate projects in Flanders (http://www.buildingcapital.eu). I managed 19 real estate
investments financially from start to finish: due diligence, legal, budget, follow up and exit.

UHasselt Venture Management (9/2011 – 3/2013) ): investment manager

UHVM brings discoveries from the University of Hasselt to the market by creating, financing
and advising new spin-offs. Three investments were made under my supervision: Lumoza,
Camargus and Ultra Pictura (http://www.uhasselt.be/uhvm) which I financially followed up.

StoneFund (4/2001 – 4/2010) ): investment manager

I joined StoneFund as a managing partner in 2001 and invested 40 million Euro in high-tech
companies in their early and venture stage. On behalf of StoneFund I held several board
seats in small and medium sized IT companies in Europe and in the US.
I managed 11 investments from due diligence, over growth until exit.

De Televisiefabriek (6/1992 – 3/2001): CFO

De Televisiefabriek produced broadcast productions for the Belgian television channel V.T.M.
Together with a group of 50 enthusiast people the company created enormous successes.
As CFO, I was responsible for the daily operational management of the group.
Together with Paul Jambers, I prepared a successful exit.
The company was sold to Eyeworks, a Dutch venture backed broadcast production company.

General Control Applications (5/1987 – 5/1992): CFO

Co-founder of General Control Applications, an Antwerp based software company developing
steering system software on DLC for Belgian and Dutch petrochemical companies.
As CFO I was responsible for the financial management of the company.
Together with my 2 colleagues, we successfully sold GCA to Bellt, a Dutch software company
at that time active in system software only for the food Industry in only in the Netherlands.

Generale Bank (4/1985 – 4/1987): Account Manager

University trainee at Generale Bank, now BNP Paribas Fortis
Commercial and financial trainee at Vlaamse Investeringsvennootschap (Venture Capital)
Account Manager at Commercial division “Waasland”.

L.A.G. Manufacturing (5/1983 – 3/1985): Project engineer and Product manager

Project engineer: development of a prototype of an intercity bus for the Belgian Railways
(NMVB), including the design of an aerodynamic form and the multiple use of plastic.
Product manager: Coordination, planning and supervision of de intercity bus assembly line,
conducting a team of 35 technicians. Special assignments: Investigation fort the use of glues
in assembling metal constructions and organization of the start-up of CAD-CAM.

Catholic University of Leuven Department Construction (9/1980 - 9/1982): Assistant

Assistant Academic Personnel (AAP) to Professor Van Laethem, head of the department.
Teaching and evaluating students in the first and second bachelor of civil engineer.
