Equipment:
Laptop/tablet/phone
Deck of UNO Cards or Colors (if parents don’t have UNO cards, follow link below), 1 Container
Color Correspondence Document
Standards Addressed:
1.6 Balance on one, two, three, four, and five body parts.
3.2 Participate three to four times each week, for increasing periods of time, in moderate to vigorous
physical activities that increase breathing and heart rate.
3.5 Stretch shoulders, legs, arms, and back without bouncing.
5.2 Participate willingly in physical activities.
5.4 Encourage others by using verbal and nonverbal communication.

Warm Up:
Search YouTube for Music
Follow along the movements for minutes.
Activity:

Adult: Demonstrates the exercises of running in place, frog jumps, hop (or stand 3 sec.) on one foot,
balance, jumping jacks, dancing and high five.

Place cards on the ground facing down, take turns to select one card and…
Color determines the EXERCISE

Closure: Ask student to demonstrate his/her favorite stretch. Have every family member that
participated to demonstrate their family stretch. Face a partner, make eye contact and say
“Good job...” (some examples below):
1. Taking turns
2. Completing the exercises
3. At requesting for a break
Modifications:
-Parents can assist child with arm movements
-Exercises can be switched to curl-ups, mountain climbers, arm circles, bunny jumps, kangaroo jumps,
push-up position, side stretch
-Can pick as many cards as desired, for example, 10 cards instead of all deck.
-If UNO cards are not available, put crayons red, blue, green, yellow in a dark plastic bag. Have student
pick out a color and perform exercise 5 times.
