Hybrid Car- is one that uses two or more engines i.e.

an electric motor and a conventional

engine (either petrol or diesel).

Alternator-is a generator of electric power in a car and is a major component of the vehicle's
charging system.

Photovoltaic (PV) - devices generate electricity directly from sunlight via an electronic process
that occurs naturally in certain types of material, called semiconductors.

Wind turbine- is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into electricity.

Wind energy (or wind power)- refers to the process of creating electricity using the wind, or air
flows that occur naturally in the earth's atmosphere.

Solar power- is energy from the sun that is converted into thermal or electrical energy.

Kinetic energy- is the energy of mass in motion. The kinetic energy of an object is the energy it

has because of its motion.

Kilowatt hour (kWh)- is a way to measure the amount of electricity used in an hour.

Gasoline engine- internal combustion engine having its piston driven by explosions of a
mixture of air and vapor of gasoline or other volatile fuel ignited by an electric spark.

Density- is a measure of mass per volume.

Wind Speed- (or Wind Velocity) is an air moving from high to low pressure, usually due to
changes in temperature that measures over the land surface at a height of 10 m above ground
level.

Lithium-ion battery- is a family of rechargeable battery types in which lithium ions move from the

negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and back when charging.
