Today I am going to talk about Autism

spectrum disorder. This disease, which is

also known as ASD or Autism, is a
developmental disability that can cause
social, communication and behavioral
challenges. People with ASD may
communicate, behave, and learn in ways that
are different from most other people. Autism
can look different in different people. Some
people with ASD may require significant
support in their daily lives, while others may
need less support and, in some cases, live
entirely independently. There is no single
cause for it, and symptoms can be very mild
or very severe.
Autism cannot be transmitted from person to
person. It is not that kind of disease which
can cause nausea, intense pain. It is not
zoonotic or contagious disease. Victims of
ASD do not have high fevers, difficulty
breathing or facial swelling. Its symptoms are
really different. Many people with ASD have
varied ways of learning, paying attention, or
reacting to things. They might repeat certain
behaviors and might not want change in their
daily activities. They cannot respond to their
names by their first birthday. Playing,
sharing, or talking with other people does
not interest them. They prefer to be alone.
They reject physical contact and they avoid
eye contact. These signs of ASD begin during
early childhood and typically last throughout
a person’s life.
Diagnosing autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
can be difficult because there is no medical
test, like a blood test, to diagnose the
disorder. Doctors look at the child’s
developmental history and behavior to make
a diagnosis.
ASD can sometimes be detected at 18
months or younger. However, many children
do not receive a final diagnosis until they are
mature people. This delay means that
children with ASD might not get the early
help that they need.
There is currently no cure for ASD. However,
research shows that early intervention
treatment services can improve a child’s
development. These services can include
therapy to help the child talk, walk, and
interact with others.
There may be many different factors that
make a child more likely to have an ASD,
including environmental, biologic and genetic
factors.
Most scientists detected that genes are one
of the risk factors that can make a person
more likely to develop ASD. Also, children
born to older parents are at greater risk for
having ASD. In rare cases, doctors also say, a
baby can be born with birth defects if the
mother was exposed to certain chemicals
while she was pregnant. But doctors cannot
find out, during pregnancy, if baby will have
autism.
At last I want to say that more children are
diagnosed with autism now than ever before.
But the latest numbers could be higher
because of changes in how it is diagnosed,
not because more children have a disorder.
