Assets under Management (AUM): AUM is defined as the market value of all the financial assets that a company manages for its investors. If a

The exchange traded fund (ETF) of gold has depleted after investors pulled out over Rs.300 crore’s worth from the market. Investors are more inclined
towards equity over gold.

Gold’s ETF has been unenthusiastic over the last few years causing sizeable outflows. With an outflow of Rs.1475 crore in 2104-15, Rs.903 crore in
2015-16 and Rs.775 crore in 2016-17, the current financial year seems to be following the same trend as well.

On the flipside, equity investments and equity linked saving schemes (ELSS) saw an increment of Rs.61,000 crore in the first five months of the current
financial year.

Gold ETF manages to pull out 79 crore in May

Skeptical investors pulled out about Rs.75 crore from Gold Exchange Traded Funds in May which turned the total into Rs.148 crore in the first two
months of the current financial year mostly on the account of profit booking. Trading in gold ETFs has been lukewarm over the last three years. ETF
witnessed an outflow of Rs. 98 crore, Rs. 1,475 crore and Rs. 2,293 crore in 2015-2016, 2014-2015 and 2014-2013.The pace of outflow slowed down
quite a bit in the financial year of 2015-2016.
