ANS 1.1) The main strategy adopted by Starbucks is the introduction
of new technology into their business which attracted customers,
along with that with the use of this technology they also make the
loyal customers by binding them with the mobile app by giving them
incentives. They maintained their dominant position in coffee shop
despite of highly competitive market by introduction of mobile app
and online payment. They also made use of social media platform
were customers enjoyed uploading their star bucks reward and
hence increasing publicity of brand.

Ans 2.2) In early 2009, Starbucks introduced components of smaac


stack into their business, they made use of social and mobile
technology for gaining the competitive advantage.
Introduction of this technology widens their scope of business. They
introduced the mobile payment application in which customers get a
2d barcode which they can scan and make their payment, customers
find this attractive and more convenient mode of payment, they
refer it as fastest way to pay. This app makes customers generous
about the technology they adopted and attracted them to visit the
shop. This app also allows customers to check their balance, recharge
their star buck balance through credit card or paypal which is very
convenient for the customers. They can also locate nearest strarbuck
shop with this app.
Along with this mobile app Starbucks also started offering rewards to
the customers which makes them loyal customers and force the
customers to visit the shop regularly to get benefit of the rewards,
this process of rewarding the loyal customers binds the customers to
Starbucks and customers are willing to visit the store regularly.
Another use of technology Starbucks made is the use of social media,
customers upload the rewards they get from Starbucks on social
media, this makes the brand to gain publicity through social media,
more and more customers upload their rewards and in this way
Starbucks became popular among more number of customers and
thus widens the business to wide extent.
Customers find it prestigious if they get more reward from Starbucks,
so the competition among the customers begins to get more
Rewards and, in this way, social media became platform for the
Starbucks to expand the business more.
In this way mobile app and social media helps starbucks to gain
competitive advantage, as customers find it convenient way of
payment and also, they get security of their financial transaction
using this app. Social media widens the business as it increases the
publicity of the brand to grater number of customers, it leads to
greater efficiency and productivity.
Ans 1.3) Starbucks give my star buck rewards to the loyal customers,
this reward is in the form of incentives, the customers who habitually
buy and pay through mobile app gets more reward points, ad gets
free drinks and snacks. Customers find it prestigious if they get
reward from the starbucks and upload it on social media sites like
Facebook and twitter, this make loyal customers for starbucks along
with that the brands name reach to more and more people with this
kind of publicity, This increase efficiency and productivity of brand.
Ans 2.2) Being an information technology consultant, to resolve the
issues faced by the Mrs. Agrawal and taking her business to next
level, I would recommend her to take her business to online
platform. As social media can be a good platform to take the
business to next level. Here she can make use of social media
platform such as Instagram, Facebook, printrest to display images of
various designs of garments of her brand. This will increase the reach
of business to more and more number of customers which in turn
can expand the business, I will also recommend her to advertise
about requirement of expertise designer on sites such as linkedin
Naukri etc, from were she can get employees worth for her business,
along with that, To take the business into next level, there can be
certain strategies which will surely help as market research as she
has done her post graduate in economics. As she can conduct the
meeting regarding the work ethics and she can also set certain rules
and regulation in the business that after this no one can come late,
like the basic ethics that can help her to resolve her problem while
meeting customers demand. She can also have customized business
in systemized order like working in a systematic manner. To take
business online which really help her as she won't be requiring much
space for that and also not much workers. One of the best things is
taking business online is that it does not cost much and it will attract
more customers as many people are into internet, by establishing
the business on internet will help her in business to grow and
expand. There she does not have to do much walking like she did in
local market with her samples, she has to be just sit and work. There
many beneficial features of the internet for establishing the business
online, by creating website for the business, she can develop her
own website and upload her designs and much more. By having her
own website, she can also get feedback like what she can more
improve in her designs as well as in her business. By taking business
into online. she generates profits that is one of the main motives of
any business.
Ans 2.1) According to case study, business of Mrs Agrawal is in initial
phase and the information available for evaluating Mrs Agrawal is
limited. However, some major issues faced by Mrs Agrawal is lack of
planning, decision making and leadership qualities.
Any business requires initial planning to setup and expand, in case of
Mrs Agrawal she doesn’t make the proper plan about her accounts,
her workers, about capacity she required for setup, manpower and
pricing of the product, this leads to unappropriated decision making
and thus she faced problem in business.
She is good human but not good leader, being an entrepreneur, you
need to be time bound and need to make your workers time bound
which Is the primary requirement to make business successful. In
case of Mrs Agrawal she provides relaxation to her employees in
terms of time, due to this supply of orders cannot match with
demand which is harmful for any business, this may shift customers
to competitors, so this is the area of improvement for her.
