Dear School Administrator,

I first would like to thank you for taking the time to consider me for a position as an Elementary

teacher and employee within your school district. My name is Kelly Johanson and I am a graduate from

Flandreau, South Dakota. In May, I will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a

minor in technology through Dakota State University.

In my future classroom, most importantly I will and am so excited to create positive relationships

with each and every student to where they feel safe, noticed, and loved. I truly want to know the students;

their interests, family background, etc. It is also very important to me that we create a safe learning

environment for the students to learn in. I want students to want to come to school and are excited to learn

every day. I have learned a lot about technology and incorporating it into the classroom, so I will use

technology to support and enrich students to be successful. Another factor into having a successful student is

differentiated instruction. With all the different learning styles it is essential that I can differentiate my

instruction so I can reduce any gaps in the classroom and to ensure all students are successful.

My career is right around the corner, and I am so excited to bring my knowledge and passion into my

own classroom. By creating positive relationships, a safe environment, incorporating technology, and using

differentiation we will have successful students in and out of the classroom. I look forward to hearing from

you so we can talk more about my classroom and educational ideas. If you have any further questions please

feel free to email me at Kelly.Johanson@trojans.dsu.edu or by phone number, (605)-864-0290. Once again,

thank you so much for taking the time to consider me as a teacher at your school district!

In education,

Kelly Johanson
