Use the Present Simple for:

 Grammar: Comparative and superlative adjectives

The dog is faster than the elephant.

The horse is the fastest.

The dog is more energetic than the elephant.

The elephant is the most intelligent.

We use comparative form to compare two nouns and we use superlative form to compare three
or more nouns.

Present Continuous
 Uses:
The present continuous is used to refer to actions that are happening at the moment of
speaking. It can be used with expressions such as right now, at this moment, now.
To form this tense, we need 2 verbs:

 GRAMMAR: Past simple – Regular and Irregular verbs

Jorge Luis Borges was an argentine poet,


essayist and short- story writer. He lived
from 1899 to 1986. He published his first
poems “Fervor de Buenos Aires, poemas” in
1923. He wrote for 50 years. He was 86
years old when he died in Geneva,
Switzerland.

The verbs "was, lived, published,


wrote, died" are in the simple past tense.

Notice that:

The simple past is used principally to describe events in the past, but it also has some other
uses. Here are the main uses of the simple past.

 GRAMMAR: Future Simple

Simple future has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going to." Although the two
forms can sometimes be used interchangeably, they often express two very different meanings.
Both "will" and "be going to" refer to a specific time in the future.

 WILL

Form:

Uses:

1. For things that we decide to do now. (Rapid Decisions)

I'll buy one for you too.

2. When we think or believe something about the future. (Prediction)

I think it will rain later so take an umbrella with you.

Note: You can use both Will and Going to for making future predictions.

3. To make an offer, a promise or a threat.

I'll give you a discount if you buy it right now.

I promise I will behave next time.

4. You use WON'T when someone refuses to do something.

My kids won't listen to anything I say.
