Teletalk

Teletalk Bangladesh Limited was incorporated on 26 December


2004. It is the only stated owned mobile phone operator in the
country. Teletalk has continually expanded its network to
provide better services. It’s the 4th biggest mobile phone
operator with about 3.8 million users.

SOWT Analysis
Strength:
 It is a Government owned organization.
 Low call rate and cheaper internet costs.
 It’s all connections are ISD (International Subscribers’
Dialing) & EISD (Economy International Subscribers’
Dialing) and free of extra charges.
 Teletalk is the only indigenous company using GSM
service.
 From the very beginning it is providing free TNT incoming.
 The customers perception of Teletalk is very positive.

Weakness:
 It has a weak network coverage. They don’t provide 3G &
4G in every area.
 Lack of advertising.
 Poor marketing.
 Less amount of value added services.
 Lack of potential and efficient employees.
 Weak management system.
 The progress of development of network is far below from
the subscribers expectation.
 Customer Care Center is not much available in every area.
 Promotional activities are very poor and insufficient.
 Teletalk uses 2 GSM band and 2 UMTS band which is much
less than other mobile phone operator like Robi,
Grameenphone.

Opportunity:
 Less bindings in legal environment.
 It has primarily tested 5G in Dhaka.
 It is used in public programs. It shows the public
examination results first.
 Teletalk can use the experience of BTTB (Bangladesh
Telegraph and Telephone Board).
 It can use the image of local and government owned
organization.
 Introduction of new technology and services.
 Expand the market in the rural area.
Threats:
 Teletalk has strong competitors like Robi, Grameenphone,
Banglalink.
 It has chances of knock out from the market.
 Economic slowdown of Government.
 The new invention of technology which is modern and
consumer oriented.

Decision making:
At first the company should think how to increase its
subscribers and work for that. They can rent towers from other
company or settle permanent towers. They have to attract the
youth by providing them better services. They can get more
bandwidth and high speed. They can promote Teletalk through
emotional and attractive advertise. They can inspire Govt.
employees to use Teletalk. Finally, it can offer attractive data
packages and call rate so that it can get more subscribers.
