Reflection:
I think this lesson could be really cool to adapt to do with an older classroom. I know fifth graders still really enjoying dressing up and playing around and having
this activity with a little bit of a looser structure and allow some freedom in the activity. With the 5 th grade writing standard W.5.3 write narratives to develop real or
imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences I could adapt this lesson to allow students to write new
sections of what King Midas turned to gold. With 1PR retell or dramatize stories, myths, and fairytales from various time periods and cultures on the first grade
drama standards, students are still able to dramatize this story, but allowing more creative freedom will be a good adaptation with this age group. For this lesson,
students will be able to write new sections of an old folk tale and the students will be able to dramatize this story with their bodies and props.
