CAREER FINANCIAL ANALYST

A. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Analyze financial information to produce forecasts

of business, industry, and economic conditions for
use in making investment decisions.
 Assemble spreedsheets and draw charts and graphs use
to illustrate technical reports using computer.
 Evaluate and compare relative quality of various
securities in a given industry.
 Interpret data affecting investment programs, such
as price, yield, stability, future trends in
investment risk and economic influences.
 Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments
in the fields of industrial technology, business,
finance, and economic theory.
 Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and
corporate developments through the analysis of
information obtained from financial publications and
services, investment banking firms, government
agencies, trade publications, company sources, and
personal interviews.
 Prepare plans of action for investment based on
financial analysis.
 Present oral and written reports on general economic
trends, individual corporations, and entire
industries.
 Recommend investment and investment timing to
companies, investment firm staff, or the investing
public.
 Collaborate with investment bankers to attract new
corporate clients to securities firms.

data bases, power point presentations and learn
other software applications.

C.WORKING HOURS

 Financial analyst are normally based in offices,

but they also travel to consult with clients and
investigate companies with investment potential.
They spend a large portion of office hours meeting
people or speaking on the telephone, which leaves
their analysis and research work for evenings and
weekends. Frequently under stress from deadlines,
mosr analysts work full-time, and overtime are
routine. Many work as many as 50 to 70 hours per
week, according to the Bureau of labor.

D.WORKING CONDITIONS
 Financial analysts study investments, give
recommendations and make investment decisions. The
position requires ay least a Bachelor’s degree in
Finance or a related subject, but some employers
require a master’s degree in Finance or Business
Administration. Many analysts also have a license
from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority,
and certifications, such as Charted Financial
Analysts.

1. Advantages
  In the Financial services industry, one of the
most covered careers is that one of the financial
analysts. Financial analysts can work in both
junior and senior capacities within a firm and it
is nice that often leads to other career
opportunities. The financial services industry is
competitive, and it can be tough to break into the
analysts field, but there are some preparations
you can make to position your self for this
career. If you’re interested in a carer as a
financial analysts, read on to find out what you
can do to groom yourself for the job.

2. Disadvantage

 It can take years to become a financial analysts.

Although some employers will hire applicants with
a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or
economics, many financial institutions prefer
candidates with an MBA. Plus, financial managers
must usually spendtime in other positions, such as
a loan officer making the transition to this
career. It could take upward of seven years to
land the job.

E. OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT

 As interoffice protocol goes, analysts interact
with each other as colleagues while they tend to
report to a portfolio manager or other senior in
management. A junior analysts may work his or her
way uo to a senior analysts in a period of three
to five years. For senior analysts who continu to
look for a career advancement. There is the
potential to become aporfolio manager a partner in
an investment bank or senior management in a
retail bank or an insurance company. Some analysts
go on to become investment advisors or financial
consultants.

 MY AUTO BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Attainment of my goal is one that I’m trying to achieve

right now. Having my goal is one of the most important on me
because it motivates me to pursue my studies.

Back when I was in High School, I started planning about

what course I will take. To be a nurse is my first choice, second
is to be a teacher, and lastly, is tourism. When I was already a
Fourth Year, councils from different Universities came to
advertise their schools and they also offered courses.
Unfortunately, no one of them is my choice. As what I had
mentioned, I really want to be a nurse. Since childhood we’ve
been playing and I’m the one who act as a nurse that’s why no
wonder why I want to be a nurse. University of Baguio is my
choice to be my Alma matter. I’ve already shared this plans of me
to my parents.

I felt excited and a little bit nervous that time of

enrollment. It’s just so sad because my mother told me to enroll
Accountancy rather than a nurse. It’s not that she don’t want
nurse for me, but nurse is expensive as what she explain to me.
Aside from that, one of my mother’s reason is that she was
worried that I may encounter a lot of sleepless nights which is
her concern because I’m anemic and it is also a disadvantageous
on my part.

I was alone on my first day of being college student here in

the University of Baguio, I don’t know anyone most especially in
our classroom, I felt nervous in every time the instructor
enters. On the second day, my nervous turned to excited because
I’ve already meet new friends.

First year of college is just the same as what I had learned

from High School but of course I must to exert an effort and
focus on my studies. When I was already second year and third
year, I’ve encounter a lot of destructions, I’ve already
experience having a low grades. How I wish I could go back to
those times I wasted and missed the opportunities.

For now, I’m still hoping for a lot of opportunities that I

must to grab it. Though I encounter failure, I still believe that
my determination helps me to overcome those struggles that I may
encounter in the middle of my journey.
 WHY ARE YOU PROUD OF YOUR SELF?

Being proud of who you are, what you have, where you came
from, what you can do and a lot more that describe you is simply
being proud of yourself. Before sharing my own reasons on why I
am proud of myself, let me first share you about of me.

I am Gina B. Banoca a college student of the University of

Baguio still on the stage of finishing my studies at the same
time enhancing my knowledge and pursuing to attain my goals in
order to become a successful someday, and I believe in the saying
“ strong walls just shake but never collapse”.

I am proud of myself because of who I am, I have my

determination to deal and overcome problems that I encounter, I
also don’t forget my limitations, and I’m so proud of myself
because I’m now one step closer to my goal, it is to graduate in
college. I may describe myself as water, a water that flows in a
river with big stones. The water symbolizes my determination to
go with the flow of life and the big stones symbolize the
hindrance on my way, This water as my determination overcome the
stones in spite of being a big stone, just like me I try to do my
best to over such challenges no matter how hard it is. Overcoming
the struggles that I have been encounter in my life makes me more
proud of myself.

I’m also proud of myself because I’ve given a best mom and
dad in the world, who always guide me, protect me, and take cares
on me and have a sibling who also loves me. They are my
inspiration.
 MY CHARACTER SKETCH OF MY SELF

My name is Gina B. Banoca, I am a shy person, I am slim, my

skin is brown, I’m kind person according to my friends, I’m the
fourth child among the five sibling in our family. I don’t look
like my mother, I got my resemblance from my father because my
mother is not as tall as me and not as slim as me though I got
the color of my skin on her. About my face? Well, I look like my
father.

My friends, family, relatives and my classmates describes me as a

quiet person which I admit. I used to be quiet and alone than to
mingle with my classmates especially when it comes to not
important matters but if it is involves to my concerns I will I
have to. It’s not that I’m quiet person means I’m hard to be
with. But seriously, I am friendly it’s just that I am not
talkative. Since I’m moody person there are also times that I
mingle with my friends and my classmates when I’m in good mood.
I’m also determine on the things that I want to,I don’t want
those persons who are very bossy, I love to be with those person
who are talkative and make jokes.I love to listen music such as
pop music.

Aside from being friendly, I’m also honest, loyal, trustworthy

and responsible. Through actual performance I am also hardworking
and manageable. I do house chores and also taking care of my
niece.

I’ve been through in messy relationships with my friends and

loved one. Through that, I learned a lot on my limitations and
makes me matured enough.
 WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO GAIN FROM ATTENDING
COLLEGE?

What do I expect to gain from attending college? Well, I

expected to gain knowledge. I considered attending college is the
key to my success. They say,that college is not just easy which I
agree to it considering the large amount of money that must be
used, sleepless nights that I encounter, my social life that must
be cut, my sacrifice being far away from my parents, but all of
this is just a part of being a college. This made me grown up and
to be matured enough.

Entering into a college life is a very big deal where our future
will be involved not only in part but in wholly. Expectations in
college are quite interesting though we cannot have all what we
expect but at least we still put an effort for it.

There are lot of expectations in college but of course consider

also the fact of expecting the unexpected. I as acollege student
expected a lot. Graduating in college is one that I expect the
most, but before that, I must to do my best in order for me to
graduate in college.

Attending college is a very important most especially for us

generations because if you did not graduated from college then
it’s very hard to find a job especially that the common
requirements to apply for a job is in needs to be graduated in
any course.

College is where I’ve learned to be independent, though I

encounter sleepless nights, being stressed sometimes, I just take
this as a challenge and I’m thankful because If I did not
encounter this kinds of challenges then I would be lost when the
an unexpected things come.

I am unique not only physically but emotionally. I’m just showing

the real me to people and I don’t have to pretend just to flatter
somebody. I am not perfect, I commit mistakes also. I have my own
skills, passion and capabilities which I believe that I possess.I
am honest and loyal that’s why they trust me. I’m approachable
person, I also have patience

I’m also friendly of all ages because somebody of them that are
in my same age is where I can share my ambitions and goals, for
the elders, is someone who guide me regarding decisions. And for
the someone younger, is for me to share life’s lesson. I’m kind
of person who really cares about my family they are my
inspiration.

I am good in time management, I hate to be late especially in our

classroom and when it comes to important matters such as
requirements in school, I don’t want missing activities such as
set works and assignments that’s why I don’t absent myself with
out valid reasons.

I am a hard working person not only in the school but also in our
house especially when it comes to house chores. I’m looking
forward for my ambition and trying my best to have agood grades.
I started attending seminars not just because of in needs of
certificate but I want to gain more knowledge especially to those
seminars that is related in business.

When it comes to task or job someday, I am willing to do new task

anytime. I am willing to do the work without complaints.If I
would be given a chance to have a good job in the future I will
take care of it and never lost it, because if I lost it, It will
surely be my problem because it takes time on searching a new job
especially nowadays that there are a lot of applicants.
 PEER EVALUATION

Gina B. Banoca is very simple girl, a gorgeous friend of mine,

she’s trustworthy which we share our all secrets and share also
our problems, sometimes we both cry on problems and both laugh
when reminiscing our experiences. She’s strong person because in
all of what she had encounter is that I never seen her give-up
instead she always says that she can do it. She had been through
a lot of pains and struggles before but despite of all those
pains she became more responsible.

She is always there at the time I need a companion. She makes

jokes that we both laugh with. She is is a responsible student
and she deserves a good grade that pays her patience and efforts.
She experiences a sleepless nights and being stressed and this is
just a part of collage life and one thing I’m sure is that her
hardship will soon be pays.

When I was First year college I don’t usually attend seminars. I

just started attending seminars during my third year. Back when I
was in first year collge,I joined the ballroom competition in our
P.E and surprisingly we are the first runner up after the
competition.

In my higher year I started attending seminars and planning to

attend more not only seminars but any other activities which will
help me to gain more knowledge and skills.

On the pat few months I attended the seminar on “preparing

globalfilipino professionals through the international OJT
program” I also attended the seminar on “ It’s more fun working
in the government” held on the third day of October in the
University of Baguio. On the 7th day of October,2014 I attended
the seminar on the “Values Orientation”. I also attended the
seminar on”Labor Education With General Labor Standard” followed
by the seminar on the “Right Career, Right Philosophy” held on
21st-22nd day ofOctober 2014 respectively.

Before that we also encourage to join the seminar about nursing

which I belive that it may help us in the work place someday
incase of health problems of our co-employees. We attended the
seminar on the “Educate to ennovate” and the “beautiful Mind”
held at the GAP Review Center Hall on the 7th day August 2014.

Aside from seminars, I joined also some activities in the sports

fest held in Baguio Country Club. I joined the Sports fest thrice
during my First year to third year. I’m also part of the National
Service Training Program(NSTP)1 and 2 whare we went to some other
places of Baguio area to clean.
