Q1. (a) Discuss the importance of system software in a computer system?

Answer: system software is a set of programs which control the computer software and programing
applications It have different software’s such as operating software, database management software
and networking . to run the hardware’s of the computer we need a software which is provided by
system software it performs one or more functions for example

When we installed a window, we need to run or hardware for that we must install the driver software to
run our hardware mouse driver sound driver the system software provides this. The system software’s
are windows 7 windows 10 are the system software

(b) Write a few features of system software?

Answer: There are few features of system software

1. Supports development of other application software

It helps to develop the other software such as programming languages translator software linker loader
software

 Translator : Translate the language of programs

 Linker :link tow or more files
 Loader : load the files to ram
 Programming : c++
2. Supports execution of other application software.
the performance of an instruction or program to help the application to run to operate
3. Monitor the effectiveness of the CPU memory
4. Helps the other software’s to run the printer mouse sound internet

Q2. (a) Keeping in view the discussion on main memory, write a few limitations of main memory?
Answer:
Limitations of main memory are
1. Due to technological design It can store limited data how much capacity it has it will store that
much it can’t store more data in it
2. It is volatile in nature due to its circuit developed with registers it can able to hold data if its
capacitors are charged. Means one it's discharged data loss
3. they are fixed
4. they are not expanded

(b) Main memory is considered to be an important part of processing, elaborate?

Answer: The primary storage or the memory is called the main memory in computer system. It is also
known as system memory. Primary storage or memory stores data and programs temporarily during the
operation of computer.
There are two types of primary memory.
Random Access Memory (RAM) and Read Only Memory (ROM).

Flash memory and cache memory are also the types of primary memory. These memories have great
impact on processing speed of computer. The main role of main memory is READ, WRITE and CLEAR.
In memory order, it is placed in highest position due to high speed, high cost and small size. Processor
directly access primary memory.
A memory, which stores data and programs for a long period of time, is called secondary memory. This
memory can also be called backup storage memory or mass storage media. Although it is placed in
lower position due to low speed, low cost and large size, it has a very large storage capacity.
Floppy disk, Hard Disk, CD-ROM, DVD, Zip Disk, magnetic tape etc. are secondary memories used to
store data. Now-a-days, operating system and other software, business data and information are stored
in Flash drives
Q3. Based on the discussion related to internet and its services, elaborate the effective use of
TelNet based software in current health emergency and how different sectors of life are benefiting
from it?

Answer :

Effective use of TelNet based software in current health emergency

 TelNet:

Telnet is a simple text-based computer protocol that is used for accessing remote computers over
TCP/IP networks like the Internet. It provides a two-way interactive communication compatibility for
computers on the Internet and local area networks. It is famous for being the original protocol from
when the internet first launched in 1969

How different sectors of life are benefiting from TelNet.

Although Telnet has its disadvantages such as being insecure its advantages of being rapid and efficient
outweigh its disadvantages. People use Telnet for several purposes. Telnet is used for administering and
joining text-based bulletin board systems (BBS) as forums are all about text and there is no need of
pictures and graphics. A BBS provides a way to message other users, view news, share files, and more.
There are several such active communities on the Internet based on Telnet Protocol. Telnet also allows
users to manage various accounts or devices remotely. In Current Health Emergency where there is
restriction of movement due to lock downs and social distancing guidelines using Telnet protocol based
programs Businesses and people can access and share information and files on remote computers via
the internet without being physically there reducing the risk of a health crisis. For example, a user may
telnet into a computer that hosts their website to manage his or her files remotely.
