Personal Statement

Ever since an early stage in my life, I have always worked hard to overcome challenges. This in
turn influenced my passion for business. And I know that this stage of my life is the best for
learning, understanding and exploring the challenges and aspects of business. Hence, my
decision to follow a Master of Business Administration at your prestigious institute.
I am a graduate of Kotelawala Defense University, where I have successfully completed a
Bachelor of Science in Logistics Management in the year 2015. I completed my 6 month
internship at the Sri Lankan Airlines Ltd, which was a very educational and enlightening
experience for me. It allowed me access exposure in a very significant manner as the only
national carrier of the country. I then joined a minor but growing private firm, where I was able to
grow and work in many areas and gain experience with minimum supervision.
I am currently employed at Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka Pvt Ltd, which is an
international business entity, based in China. I have worked as an Executive for the past year
and half, in the Network Department, where my responsibilities have ranged from managing
access permission to managing the income and expense generated by sharing towers and
other infrastructure with the other telecommunication operators such as Dialog, Airtel etc.
During this period I have faced many challenges with the change in job roles, change of
management, location etc, but I have also successfully combated each one of them and
emerged victoriously.
I am a committed and hardworking individual with a main goal of developing my career in this
industry. I am also creative and dynamic. I have attributes of adapting to ay environment easily
and completing my tasks efficiently. My hobbies include reading and writing. I enjoy art and
music as well.
I chose the MBA degree offered by your campus because of its renowned academic excellence,
the demand it has created in the industry and also considering that I would not have to migrate
to a different country in order to complete my studies. I am very excited to be part of your
program and I am looking forward to complete this chapter in my life.
