419 FINAL PORTFOLIO CHECKLIST

____X 1. Portfolio Rubric, filled out electronically (typed) for artifacts and self-rating (do not complete
columns for professors). Include one copy on your portfolio site and submit a second copy via MUOnline.
(File title should begin with your last name. Example: Nolte419Portfolio)

___X_ 2. Complete this CHECKLIST and check off items when you have completed and submitted
them (either placed them on your site or submitted to MUOnline where required).

___X_ 3. Complete a Portfolio Reflection. This is a major new document for the portfolio and requires
extensive writing and reflection. It asks you to reflect on your work from the class for the entire semester.

__X _ a. Re-read your attitudes, content knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge objectives for the
course, found on the Portfolio Rubric. (These are based on your professional standards from NCTE.)

___X_ b. Write a narrative Portfolio Reflection about what you have learned about your
professional attitudes, content knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge from your class work, lesson
planning, etc. Address each objective one by one. Create a section for each type of objective
(Attitudes, Content, Pedagogy). Describe how you feel you have mastered each objective using evidence
from artifacts in the portfolio to support your description. Remember to use VERY specific examples for
each claim you make about yourself. (You should approach this as an analytic and persuasive paper that
will require substantial evidence and argumentation. It is analytic in that you are analyzing your
semester and your own work. It is persuasive in that you are persuading me that your portfolio &
artifacts demonstrate the levels of mastery that you claim.)

i. COE Unit Plan document that follows the COE template
ii. Assignment sheet for summative assessment for Romeo and Juliet unit
iii. Rubric for the summative assessment

i. How did you develop the idea for these plans?
ii. What is the reason you are teaching these objectives?
iii. What is the connection between your learning objectives and the state standards?
iv. Why do you think it is useful for your students to study Romeo and Juliet?
v. What is the connection between your lesson plans and the reading and research we have been
conducting into lesson design?
vi. With this draft complete, what are some revisions you think you would make prior to teaching
them?

This section was largely completed in the midterm portfolio. You only need to update the plans
and reflections if you made major revisions I assigned to these lesson plans after the midterm
submission.
