Procedural steps:
1. Have students meet at circle time.
2. Go over new vocabulary words
that could be used on the field trip
and have a picture example.
3. Explain to students that we will be
going on a field trip to walk around
the campus to see the different
building materials architects might
use on homes and buildings.
4. Students will then get a hand out
that has pictures of different
buildings.
5. Students will mark a tally mark
everytime they see that building
type on the walk or with a check
mark.
6. They will also draw a picture of
their favorite building they see on
the walk.
7. You will then take children on the
field trip.
8. During the field trip, discuss the
aritcheture used throughout the
campus, answer any questions
they might have, and allow them
to make observations of the
surrounds.
9. Once the walk is over, go over the
things they observed as a class
and talk about any observations
students might have had.
10. Have students meet one on one to
talk about different building
materials they saw on the field trip
and to see if they can identify
them.
