MOUNTING OF TYRED RIMS ON THE WHEEL SPIDER.

General Remarks

Clean all parts, spoke ends, rim mounting bevel, bolts on clamps. Spoke ends are machined to close
tolerances. To ensure perfect alignment of the rims, they must be perfectly clean. No Paint!

Remove burrs (if any) on spoke ends and rim mounting bevel by light filing.
If a power wrench is used, check torque so as not to over tighten nuts. A higher torque than 270-300 Nm for
bolts M 18 and 320-350 Nm for bolts M 20 is not advisable and not recommended to avoid distortion of
bolts etc.

Nuts on TRILEX wheels must be re-tightened only once by the specified torque. 10 nuts on the inner bolt
circle must be retightened regularly.

The single tyred TRILEX WHEEL

Check whether brake drum has a recess for valve! When mounting rims to the wheelspider, make sure valve
an abutting stops are placed between two spoke ends.

Top and bottom clamps are mounted first. To pre-centre rim, the corresponding two nurs are tightened only in
so far that nuts and bolts are flush.

Set in remaining clamps and nuts. The latter are lightly screwed in turn and this operation repeated until nuts
are tight. Do not tighten crosswise! Admissible torque. 270-300 Nm for bolts M 18, 320 – 350 Nm for
bolts M 20. Check nuts after the first 100 kilometres (60 miles) when it may be necessary to re-tighten nuts
somewhat.

The dual tyred TRILEX WHEEL

Shift inner tyred rim on to wheelspider. Watch for possible recess for valve! Mount spacer and make sure the
two abutting stops are located between the two spokes next to the valve.

Mount second rim. Make certain abutting stops of inner and outer rims are staggered. Place the two top
clamps and nuts first and tighten lightly thus precentring outer rim.

Insert remaining clamps and nuts, preferably turning the wheel a little. Nuts are lightly tightened in turn and

DEMOUNTING OF TYRED RIMS FROM WHEEL SPIDER.

The single tyred TRILEX WHEEL

Once nuts are detached, clamps can be removed and rim demounted.

The dual tyred TRILEX WHEEL

Loosen nuts by a few turns. Release clamps with the aid if dismantling lever. Remove nuts and clamps
completely. Demount outer rim.
