Change History
Date Document Revision Summary of Changes
11/2018 -02 Added note about FedEx authentication key to Parcel Carrier
Integration section.
07/2019 -03 Added note to Supported Parcel Carriers and Service Levels
For direct integration with FedEx and UPS, you need to have an account with the carrier and get
credentials to access the carrier web services from the Carrier. You can then set up the Oracle WMS
Cloud application with these credentials. ConnectShip works similarly except that it is a third party
that facilitates shipping via multiple carriers.
Note: Customers have to setup an account with ConnectShip in addition to the parcel carrier they
wish to use.
Note: during the process of parcel carrier integration, the "web services username" field MUST contain
the FedEx Authentication Key in order to configure FedEx web services.
Please note that all customers utilizing parcel services will need to certify their production account and
labels with the parcel service. The certification process is a standard part of enabling the production
account. Please contact your parcel service representative or reference to the service’s website for
details and timelines for certification.
There are some known occasions where the certification timeline may be extended beyond the typical
timeline estimates indicated in the service’s certification process:
For some parcel services, there is an option to append a 2 inch add-on to the label for custom
information. The top 6 inches of the label is parcel service generated, and not altered by Oracle
WMS Cloud. This customized label may have to be certified separately
Oracle WMS Cloud has a tool to create custom labels. If this tool is used to print labels then the
label must be certified separately
If a 3rd Party tool is used to create the label, then the label will need to be certified separately
As of version 8.0.0, the above integrations will continue to be supported and enhanced.
Supported Parcel Carriers and Service Levels
Note: FedEx Webservice is the only carrier that supports true international shipping in WMS. Please contact your parcel service representative
or refer to the service’s website for more details about all carrier services available for specific origins and destinations.
The following diagram describes the flow of integration with other parcel systems:
OBLPN Shipping Info Output API
You can start the integration process by sending an Outbound API call using the “OBLPN
Shipping info”.
When a Wave is run: In the Wave Template UI, the flag ‘Auto Release OBLPN Shipping
Info’ must be enabled. The Wave must be cubed.
Manually Generate: In the OBLPN UI, click on the ‘Generate Shipping info’ button. The
OBLPN must be packed.
Any of the above configurations trigger the first part of this process. The “OBLPN Shipping
info” output has all of the relevant information that you need about the Outbound LPN,
Order header, and Order detail fields. For additional details about the fields, see the
Interface Specifications 19C document.
The “OBLPN Shipping info” output can be pushed via the Output Interface
Configurations UI. From the Output Interface Configurations UI, you can set up the
Interface Type: OBLPN Shipping Info. You can configure the Output Interface Target to push
this file to an external rest end point that you host. This process will serve as an input to
your external parcel system. You will need some kind of integration product such as OIC or
similar product to accept this information. You can then extract the data out and send it to
the parcel shipping system of your choice, so you can fetch a tracking number or label
information, and push this information back into Oracle WMS Cloud. The information can be
sent back to Oracle WMS Cloud using the “Update OBLPN Tracking Number” legacy API. For
additional details about this API, see the Integration API Guide.
The “Update OBLPN Tracking Number” legacy API will update the OBLPN with the
information provided. If you send the label using the Update OBLPN Tracking Number API,
you can print this label the same way as if it was created by Oracle WMS Cloud. You can use
the RF Print Ship Label or go to the OBLPN UI and click the Print Label Button. You can
also use the Print Shipping Label API. For additional details about this API, see the Rest API
Guide.
