A two component, joint sealing compound based on flexible epoxy resins. Consol Epoxy Semi Rigid Sealant
when mixed is a self smoothing 100% solid flexible.
RECOMENDED FOR
Consol Epoxy Semi Rigid Sealant is ideal for:
• Sealing joints with little or no movement in heavy duty concrete floors.
• Cracks in concrete floors and can be ground out and sealed with Consol Sealant.
• Consol Epoxy Semi Rigid Sealant is ideal for use in conjunction with Consol Epoxy Flooring coating systems.
BENEFITS
Consol Epoxy Semi Rigid Sealant other benefits such as:
• Easy mix and apply
• Excellent adhesion to most surfaces
• Suitable for use in wide joints
• Good mechanical strength
• High modulus for joint edge support under heavy wheel loadings
• Ideal for use as a flexible adhesive

Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from any loosely adhering particles or
surface contaminants such as, dirt, oil, grease etc.
Baking Rod/ Bond breaker • In open joints the correct depth should be established by inserting
Backing Rod of a suitable dimension .
• If the joint has a solid formed base it is essential to apply a bond
breaker tape to this surface in order to prevent back adhesion. This will
then allow the sealant unrestrained movement throughout the depth of
the joint.
Priming Not required, except for concrete surfaces that are slightly damp. Use Consol
Damp Surface as a primer, brush it out to form an even and uniform film.
Mixing Add the entire contents of component B into component A. using a mixer paddle
attached to a low speed electric drill (max. 500 rpm) mix together until a smooth
streak free paste is achieved.
Application Pour the mixed Consol Epoxy Semi Rigid Sealant into the prepared joints or
use low-pressure extrusion equipment. Allow the material to flow slowly, settle
and self-level filling entire depth. Strike-off level and remove any excess
material where required, before it hardness.
Existing Problem
Hard wheeled traffic deflects any existing
“soft” sealant and impacts against the joints
arrisses, causing “spalling”
This method can also be adapted to repair random cracks The Solution
Damage to joint is reduced/ prevented by
implementation of semi-rigid joint sealant.
Warehouse traffic experiences smooth
transition across joint.
