NUTR 1020

E-portfolio Reflection

I have learned in this class that food choices are an individual choice and

being fat is a choice too. Before taking this class I thought I knew a lot about

nutrition, but some of the questions I thought I knew the answer too were wrong.

There is so much to know about nutrition, I can see how people get so confused

with their choices. I guess the biggest lesson I learned is you must balance out your

diet, diets like the atkins diet don’t work because you find yourself eating only a

specific food over and over again and it becomes boring. Following the, “my

plate”, suggestions is a good balanced way to follow a good diet. My diet will

definitely have more fruits and vegetables in it for now on, and I will slowly turn

away from sugar, flour and butter because they seem like the worst foods to eat. As

well as avoiding preservatives and corn starch. Just being fully aware of when and

what you put in your body matters, what you put in your body now will either help

you or cause diseases and health problems and the choice is up to you.
