Making A Jellyfish Bottle

Materials
1. Clear plastic bottle 4. Blue food coloring
2. Clear plastic bag 5. Thread or string
3. Scissors

Instructions

1. Flatten the clear plastic bag and cut off the handle and the bottom.
2. Cut along both sides to split into 2 plastic sheets. (Only 1 will be used.)
3. From the center of the plastic sheet, fold it like a tiny balloon to make the head part and
loosely tie it with the thread. You must leave a little hole in order to pour some water in
the head part.
4. The remaining plastic sheet under the jellyfish head will be the tentacles. Cut from the
edge up to just below the thread line on the head. You’ll get 8-10 tentacles.
5. Cut the tentacles again into smaller strips and cut off any excess tentacles that make it
look too cluttered.
6. Trim the tentacles to make random long and short tentacles.
7. Put some water into the head part of the jellyfish to make it able to sink. You must leave
some air inside to keep it semi-afloat.
8. Fill up your water bottle and add a few drops of blue food coloring.
9. Put your jellyfish in the bottle and screw the cap on as tight as possible.
 If blue food coloring is not available, consider mixing a very small amount of blue paint
in with water to create a blue dye.
