5 EFFECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND NETWORKING IN OUR

DAILY LIVES

1.WE CAN GET NEWS FROM SOCIAL MEDIA AND NETWORKING SITES.
It was very difficult to find and connect with people that you once knew in high school or college,
even with the power of the web. When you moved away, most people lost touch permanently. The social
media sites, such as Facebook and Google+, are making it much easier for people to find one another and
reconnect, even after decades of being apart. The sites are a great way to see what is happening in the lives of
friends and family, and to meet new people who have similar interests and thoughts to yours.

2.WE CAN COMMUNICATE EASIER.

A social network allowing users to share the events of their lives through posting photos and
status updates, to monitor the lives of their friends, and to communicate directly via a built-in messenger
has revolutionized Internet communication, causing millions of people all over the world to share all
kinds of information about themselves. There were, of course, other social networks before Facebook, but
none of them garnered such a significant user base, remained as persistent, and continued to act as an
effective form of communication as much as Facebook did. Along with Facebook, currently there are
many other social networks, each with their own features and purposes; what unites them all, though, is
the idea of sharing. Seemingly, this should positively impact the communication skills of users, since it
allows communication even for people far away from each other, or who are unable to communicate live.

3. WE CAN BE ENTERTAINED

We use social media not just for sharing of information and a platform for communication, but they
have found a great advantage from it for entertainment purposes. Facebook for instance, as one of the biggest
social media networks has changed into something different from what it used to be.
There was even a time, long ago, when writing on the virtual walls, tagging pictures, or being poked by friends
was a form of entertainment for the many, and this has been enough to convert the everyday net surfers into
users. But today, the way how people use it when they share videos, check in at locations, make virtual
purchases, plays different applications and poker games has been greatly for entertainment. In fact, most
people log in to their social media accounts not really to be informed, but to be entertained. Though
communication might still be an important factor, it will never be effective when people see no entertainment
value in it. Aside from content sharing and streaming of videos, playing games has been one of the most
prevalent social media activities. Having more app support, it has increasingly become a multimedia
entertainment platform, where it seems to be the goal of every social media site. Today, communication and
entertainment go hand in hand. One can communicate while he enjoys playing his favorite apps. And the
choices for these apps and games just seem limitless. There are different kinds of games to choose from, but
the most popular ones are casino games such as poker and roulette which gives entertainment and relaxation to
so many people. Especially that there is no need for any amount just to enjoy. These games are often offered
for free.

the potential customers. The company, brands, and users can follow another user’s activities or get followed by
others which increase the power or value in social network. Brand name can be established easily.

5.WE CAN HAVE IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO INFORMATIONS THAT WE NEED.

Social media sites and networking sites delivers instant details on what is happening around
you and the rest of the world from various sources hence, it is impossible to miss a thing.
