Frindle Press Release Project
The word “frindle” seems to have gained a lot of popularity so far
since Nick first created it. Not only has it gained a lot of attention
in the school, but it seems to be gaining the attention of those in
the news. Pretend you are the author of a local newspaper, a
newscaster, or a radio show host and create your own press
release for the spreading news of “frindle.” Act as or pretend to
interview students in Nick’s school, teachers in the school, or even
people around town. How are they reacting to the frindle
frenzy?!

1. Decide whether you would like to work alone or in a group

2. If you decide to work in a group, use the half sheet of paper
passed out to you and record the following things down
a. the names of 2-3 people you would like to work with and
would work well with
b. which type of press release you would like to do
(newspaper article, news cast, radio show)
When done, turn this into the teacher
3. On the next day back in class, you will be informed of your
groups if you chose to be in one and decide on which project you
would like to do if you
a. did not all put down the same type of project
b. are working alone
4. Come up with a game plan for how you would like to tackle the
project. It would be smart to break this down into a day-by-day
basis so at the end of each class you can check off what you have
done.
5. At the end of the day on Thursday, we will turn them in and
present them at the end of next week.
