3. Script for English Conversation Activity on Giving Directions

Larry: Hey John. I'm on my way to your house, but I'm lost. I'm at the intersection of Oak street
and Route 3. What do I do?
John: Oh man. You are not even near my house. Make a U turn when you can and head back the
other direction. Don't you have a GPS system?
Larry: I used to have one, but it doesn't work. I just made the U turn. Now what?
John: Ok. Go up the street for about two miles and hang a right on Elm street. There is a nice
big landmark you will see before you hit that street. It is a huge pine tree that seems out of place
for that area. When you see that you need to slow down and get ready to turn.
Larry:Oh yeah. I see it right up the street here.
John: Great. Now you need to continue straight until you see a traffic circle. Once you are in the
circle go around until you see Shady Hollow street. Turn onto that street.
Larry: Ok. I see it. I think I know where I am now. I I go for three blocks and your house will be
on the left, right?
John: That's right. Once you get to my house pull right into the driveway. There should be room
for your car.
Larry: Hold on one second. I need to pull over. I think I ran over a nail and my tire is flat.
John: You have the worst luck. I'll walk over to where you are and help you change the tire.
Larry: Thanks buddy. See you in a bit.
