City Map Project (60 pts.)

Objective: the students will make a city map and use it to ask for and give directions
Learning outcomes: I can
ask for directions and listen carefully to them
give clear directions so that my partner understands
Instructions:
1. In groups of 3 people you are going to make a map on a cardboard (1/8)
2. Include the names of ten different places (for example: library, bakery, restaurant, etc.)
3. Include names of streets and avenues, traffic lights, etc.
4. Number 6 of them (1 to 6)
5. Make 3 dialogues to ask for and give directions based on the map
Include typical questions to ask for directions (Is there a library near here? How do I get to the
? Excuse me, Im looking for,)
Include prepositions (next to, opposite, across from, etc.)
Expressions like Turn right/left at the 1st/2nd/3rd corner, Go three blocks and turn right/left,
Go straight ahead, are encouraged.
Along with your dialogues, include a front page with the name of the project, the name of the
subject, the name of the students, and the group. Hand in your dialogues in an envelope or in a
folder.
Taking turns, you will work with a partner and read a dialogue. Find the places in the map. Stop
the activity when each person has had a turn.
Be creative! Be professional! Show your talent! Make an effort to have the coolest map of the class

Puedo dar direcciones claras y lograr que mis compaeros me entiendan
Instrucciones:
En grupos de 3 integrantes van a crear un mapa en un papel cascarn (1/8)
Incluyan 10 nombres de lugares en Ingls (por ejemplo: library, bakery, restaurant, etc.)
Incluyan nombres de calles y avenidas, semforos, etc.
Enumeren 6 de sus lugares (del 1 al 6)
Hagan 3 dilogos pidiendo y dando direcciones basndose en el mapa que hicieron

Incluyan una portada (nombre del proyecto, nombre de la materia, nombre de los estudiantes,
grupo (1-A, 1-B) , la portada ir junto con sus dilogos en un sobre o carpeta
Tomarn turnos y dirn cada uno de sus dilogos. Debern de ubicar los lugares en el mapa. La
actividad termina cuando todos ya hayan participado.
