- SELS will ensure the student success in academic as well as in professional life.
- Different micro and macro English language development programs will promote an English Language culture in university

1. COMPOSITION AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

I. The SELS will be an implementing body, authorized to take decisions within the operating framework. The SELS will
consist of the following team, which will work in two wings:

 SELS Stars (Students)

 VP Training
 Superior Master
II. The SELS will consist of the following portfolios, which will be led by a team of Portfolio Head (English Faculty) and
President (Student) appointed by the Advisor and Coordinator.

 Communication and Professional Development
 Internal and External Competitions
 Superior Master

2. APPOINTMENTS

I. The selection of Advisor and Coordinator will be done by Director Engagement Office

II. The whole body of Wing B i.e President, G. Secretary and VPs and Superior Master will be appointed by SELS Advisor and
SELS Coordinator. The appointments will be finalized after a Language Test and Interview.

III. The Portfolio Heads and SELS Leaders among the faculty as well as students will be appointed by the Advisor and the
Coordinator.

IV. SELS Starts and Student Support Group (SSGs) will be selected by the SELS Leaders of their concerned department. The
appointment of SELS Stars will be confirmed after a written test and interview

V. SSGs will be selected on the basis of their willingness to join SELS and serve voluntarily.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES: WING (A)
I. ADVISOR

a) Responsible for all matters related to English Language Development Activities.

b) To ensure language activities in all campuses smoothly

c) Ensure implementation of the Language Development policy provided by Director Engagement.

d) To ensure an English Language Learning Environment

e) Ensure that all stakeholders prepare and follow pre-event and post-event budget / financial and event reports

f) Team building and team mobilization

g) To execute micro and mega Language activities in the whole University

II. COORDINATOR

a) Responsible to coordinate with the advisor in all matters related to English Language Development Activities in
campus.

b) To ensure the execution of language activities in assigned campuses smoothly

c) Ensure implementation of the Language Development policy provided by Director Engagement and guided by Advisor
of the Society.

d) To establish an English language Learning environment in the assigned campuses

e) Team building and team mobilization in the particular campus

f) To execute micro and mega Language activities in the particular campus

III. Portfolio Head
a) He will be responsible to run the portfolio smoothly by advising and implementing different language activities.

b) To provide the relevant material to share on daily basis for the effective execution of the mission of SELS.

IV. SELS Leader (Faculty)


a) SELS leader will be responsible for all language activities in the department.

b) Will be responsible to report about language activities to portfolio head.

c) Will be responsible to recruit SELS stars in his/her department.

d) Will be responsible to lead the SELS Stars and command them to conduct micro language activities on daily basis.

e) Will ensure that all other English instructors of his/her department are aligned with vision and mission of the SELS.

V. SELS Stars (Students)


a) SELS Stars will be representatives of SELS (Superior English Language Society) in each class like SVLs.

b) They will be in co-ordination with their departmental SELS Leaders and their class’ English Teacher.

c) Their main task will be to share information regarding English Language with their class i.e Vocabulary of the day,
Quotation of the day or any reading material.

d) They will be active members of the organizing body of each competition and event conducted by the SELS.

e) They will be play the role of goodwill ambassadors of the SELS and spread English speaking culture within and outside
of the class.

VI. Student Support Group (SSG)
a) Every SSG Member will be highly active regarding each and every activity of the SELS

b) To coordinate with students and SELS Stars for effective execution of all language activities within and outside of the
class.

c) To promote all events and activities on social media and play the role of SELS goodwill ambassadors along with SELS
stars.

d) To support and help the language learners of the class.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES: WING (B)

I. President (Student)
a) Heading execution team of all events conducted by the SELS.
b) Will be responsible to conduct monthly meetings of the whole Wing B and report to the Advisor and the Coordinator.
c) To provide the execution plans of all events to the Advisor and Coordinator.
d) To avail recommendation for participation in external events
e) To ensure flawless execution of flagship events

II. Secretory (Student)


a) Will assist the President in all matters.
b) In the absence of the President, he or she will perform the role of acting president.
c) To maintain the record of each and every activity conducted by the SELS

d) To coordinate with the whole body regarding all updates and plans.

II.I Marketing Head
a) To promote the vision and mission of the SELS among the students

b) To spread the information of each and every event among all the students.

c) To coordinate with marketing team of the university for the promotion of all events

d) To create whatsapp group of the whole the body for flawless coordination.

II.II Finance Head


a) To manage finances required for each event

b) Responsible to make announcements and collect the funds required for the execution all events

c) To develop financial plans for all events

d) To manage the SELS BANK

e) To generate monthly statement of SELS BANK and report to the Advisor and Coordinator

II.III Communication Head


a) To bridge the gap of communication among all stakeholders and the students.

b) To maintain strong coordination with marketing head

c) To communicate the minutes of meetings to the whole body

d) To update and supervise all whatsapp groups of the SELS

II.IV Event Manager
a) To supervise each and every event under the umbrella of SELS

b) To be in coordination with the event organizing body

c) To be in coordination with engagement office

d) To be in coordination with marketing head and communication head

e) Responsible to generate execution plan and report the Advisor and the Coordinator

III. VP Training
a) Will plan and supervise orientation and training session for the newly selected SELS Stars.

b) Will supervise the portfolio by conducting different session regarding dress code and personality development.

c) To coordinate with internal and external trainers

d) To plan training programs for the language skill development of the students

IV. VP (Internal and External Competitions)


a) Will supervise and conduct competitions regarding English Language.

b) Will be in coordination with the whole student body from President to Members.

c) Will coordinate with internal and external judges and guests

d) Will be responsible of maintaining the record and reports of competitions

e) Coordination with all the departments and the authorities related to logistics and other arrangements during Word
Wars

V. Superior Master
a) To supervise Literary Events in University

b) Coordination with all the SELS Leader and the instructors related to logistics and other arrangements

c) To coordinate with student office for fixing the issues regarding venue of each activity

d) Will be responsible to coordinate with Portfolio Heads (Faculty) to execute each and every activity of their concerned portfolio

e) To promote awareness among the students regarding the importance of all activities conducted by the SELS

f) To collect data or instructions from their Portfolio Head (Faculty) and disseminate among the students

5. BOARD MEETINGS

1. The Board shall meet as deemed appropriate but at least once in a month.
2. Notice of the board meeting shall be sent to members in writing at least seven days in advance of the meeting.
3. Decisions at the Board meetings will be implemented by the volunteers and staff associated with the Board. The SELS
members will not take decisions individually or collectively outside formal Board meetings. Emergency meetings can
be called, if necessary, as deemed fit by the SELS leadership.
4. Decisions will be made at the Board meetings by consensus (on majority voting basis) with the president having a
casting vote.
5. Proper record of minutes, resolutions and correspondence in respect of the Board meeting shall be maintained and
be readily produced for audit. All meeting minutes shall be maintained by the Board for 1 year.
6. Copies of minutes, resolutions/decisions of the Board should be sent to the director engagement within one week of
the meeting.
7. A member absent in three consecutive Board meetings or six months, whichever is earlier, without any formal notice
may be replaced by the President and SELS leader and approved by portfolio head, coordinator and Advisor
president.

Events Description
1- Superior Master

It will be an activity for the improving communication skills of young learners where students will be given a chance to deliver
impromptu speeches on the given topics before the audience. This will be headed by the student body. This body (Superior Master)
will invite students twice a month. The presenters will be evaluated by the evaluation team and in the end the best presenters will
get certificates.
2- Baythak
This program is for personality development of young learners. Different speakers will come from corporate sector and they will
share their ideas which will help students to be professionally groomed.
3- Me and my story
Motivation plays important role in student success so to motivate young learners, different successful personalities will be called for
sharing success stories. This will help young learners to do something outstanding.
4- English Language Day
To promote English language is one of the objectives of this society, this event will be conducted once a year, on this day different
language activities will be performed.
5- Vocabulary of the day
This will be English language activity which will be every day in every class of the university, SELS stars will share a word with
students which will be forwarded by SELS Leaders.
6- Movie of the week
To promote English language in the university, it is necessary to conduct micro English language activities in campus and it is one of
them. There will be an English movie played in campus to improve the English language of young learners.
7- Words War
It will be presentation competition which will be conducted in each and every class and in all campuses. It will start from class and
will move on departmental level. This will give confidence to all young learners and it will improve the presentation skills.

8- Excellent hai English
This will be an English language program on Excellent TV, as well as on Radio, in this program teacher/ students will on air an English
program to promote English Language.
