6. Geobalance Managed Pressure Drilling

System
Hoisting :
 Dual RamRig™
Used for both floating and fixed installations, MHWirth’s RamRig™ technology
eliminates the need for a large derrick with a drawworks, drillstring
compensators, etc. improving the overall economy of the offshore field development.

This is the most optimal rig alternative currently available in the marketplace and
dramatically reduces the “add-on” philosophy of current rig concepts.

With its field-proven track record, our RamRig™ technology is a state-of-the-art

drilling solution that provides dual rig functionality at a lower total operational cost.

 tubular feeding machine (TFM) and riser feeding

machine (RFM)
Our tubular feeding machine (TFM) and riser feeding machine (RFM) efficiently
transport tubulars and risers, and perform general material handling to and from the
drill floor. Pipe and casing can also be transported.

The riser is delivered to the RFM on pipe deck and transported directly to the top
drive at well center. The RFM trolley follows and supports the lower end of the riser
with constant tension (or free-wheeling) function during hoisting up to vertical
position inside the derrick by the top drive. The machine can be equipped with a
radio control. Adapters for risers without buoyancy, slip joint, diverter, flex joint
and spider/gimble are included if applicable.

The hydraulic functions are equipped with relief valves that allow units and cylinders
to move to minimize damage on the steel structure in case of external overload
imposed on the machine
Rotary :
 TDX-1250 Top Drive
•TDX-1250 top drives are designed to perform safe, effective and uninterrupted
operations for both conventional and dual RamRig™ solutions; on land and offshore
installations.

Remote controlled and fully integratable with any anticollision systems, our top
drives preserve maximum operational safety and offer the flexibility needed to suit
any derrick design for both left hand, right hand and center located service loops for
interfacing the majority of the rig designs. The various top drive series offer compact
and modularized design, with the highest torque available in its class at a
competitive prize. Our top drives are electrically or hydraulically powered machines
with hoisting capacities ranging from 350 to 1500 short tons.

 Rotary Steerable System

Combine reliable, high-performance drilling with precise
directional control
With a rugged design, the Magnus rotary steerable system (RSS) satisfies your
need for speed without sacrificing directional control. It fits nearly any scenario—
from everyday to extreme conditions—and excels in high-performance drilling
applications.
Benefit :
 Precise directional control
 Independent pad control
 On target execution
 True inclination hold

 IRON ROUGHNECK

As the versatile, safe, and dependable solution for making

tubular connections on the drill floor, our iron roughnecks
minimize rig floor hazards and streamline the make-and-
break process

Sirkulating :
 Closed-loop circulation system
The closed-loop system integrates several common oilfield
technologies – rotating control devices (RCDs), flow-metering
technologies, automated drilling choke systems, and downhole
isolation valves. The elements are field proven, readily available
and relatively economical. Individually they add incremental safety
and efficiency benefits. When integrated to create a closed and
pressurizable mud-return system, the benefits escalate
exponentially and a watershed change in well control capabilities
often results.

A closed system thus provides not only control but also a rich
source of high-resolution data. These measurements of micro-
fluxes in the wellbore fluid column are obtainable while circulating,
drilling, tripping, making connections and stripping, and are
precursors to kick or loss events. This information and its speed
and quality enable a more effective and advanced response to
mitigate a critical well event

Drilling Operation

 SMARTCAT SC 10-45
The smartcat sc 10-45 catwalk machine offers safe and efficient transport of drillpipe,
collars, casings, subs, and other equipment from the pipe declk to drill floor. Its new-
generation design provides faster, smoother, and more flexible transport operations
than traditional catwalks and normal rubber-type conveyor catwalks. The Smartcat
catwalk machine carries up to four 6 5/8-in drillpipes at the same time, making it an
ideal tool for standbuilding. Designed for fully horizontal handling of drillpipe, The
Smartcat catwalk machine can be used for loading and unloading from any of the pipe
handling cranes. Its travels on rails that run all the way from the pipe deck to the well
center
The rails are normally flush mounted on the drill floor to allows smaller bit, subs and
other equipment to be safely transported. The optional tail-in arm is used to guide the
lower pin end of tubular pipes when moving from horizontal to vertical position. The
tail-in arm can be used to deliver drillpipe to the well center or a suitable santdbuilding
machine. The Smartcat SC 10-45 catwalk machine is fully automated and delivered with
a customizable local operato panel and control options. Its control system can
interfaced with other drill floor machines for a higher level of control.
 Rack and Pinion Technology
The main concept of the rack and pinion technology is to replace the drawworks, drill
line, blocks and tackle with a linear, direct driven histing system. The leads to the use of
a closed mast construction housting the entire hoisting system, instead of a
conventional open derrick or mast with the hoisting system split in several elements.
The secret behind the rack and pinion technology are the rack modules connected
together in a special way to from a stiff linear rack when it travels on the (driven) load
side. A turning wheel in the bottom of the mast makes the rack modules turn so that the
(non driven) dead side is vertically opposite of the load side.
The pinions driven by the reduction gearboxes and the drive motors engage with the
rack elements on the (driven) load side, making the rack move upwards for hoisting and
downwards (around the running wheel) for lowering.

double ram bop system
In order to ensure stronger protection, we will install double-RAM BOP. The first BOP is
installed inside the pipe (internal BOP) and the subsea is installed on subsea surface (A
typcal subsea BOP weights in a range from 450-800,000 lbs. They have more complex
control systems and usually additional ram and annular preventers) which is connected
by adrilliing riser and cemented to subsea

QTRtm 4000Ls
The new innovative Quick Turn Riser connector QTRTM 4000LS is an efficient and safe
heavy duty connector. The connector combines MHWirth’s simple locking system with
load sharing and simplified stabbing operations. The QTRTM 4000LS connector
integrates the efficient operations from our well-proven riser system with the advantages
of load sharing. The design further results in a faster stabbing operation which will take
the riser connector stabbing and make up out of the critical line in the tripping
operations. The spider and the lock ring will line up the connector prior to engaging the
p-line pin and boxes and thereby reduce the risk of damaging the seal areas during
tripping operations. The QTRTM 4000LS riser connector does not require any heavy
tools. One person, with a steel bar, can lock or unlock the connector in less than 10
seconds.

Benefit
 Connector make-up without heavy tools in less
than 10s
 Removable lock ring and p-line pins and boxes
together with integrated and removable lift lugs
results in superior inspection and maintenance
availability bot on- and offshore
 No pretension of the connector is required
 The QTRTM LS riser connector family is prepared
for up to 8 p-lines
 High strength steels with reduced risk of HISC
