Executive Summary

In this report, we came up with a business idea which is very necessary in perspective of
Bangladesh. Harassment and rape has become a threat for almost every women in Bangladesh.
There is no way it could be stopped. It is increasing day by day. So for this we thought about
bringing out a product which will at least secure them from harassment and rape and will also
help to catch the people who are involved in this kind of act. So, our product is a special kind of
‘Sports Bra’ which will have four sensor points and an electronic device in it. If anyone touches
it intentionally or unintentionally then the electronic device will send a signal through Bluetooth
to the mobile app asking if it was a intentional touch or not. If the answer ‘No’ then the app will
shut down. But if the answer is ‘Yes’ or no answer then it will automatically locate your location
via GPS and send text to nearest police station and four of the contacts provided by the user.

Nature of the business

Type: Partnership

Industry: Undergarments

The business is going to be partnership business with 4 partners initially. Each partner will invest
an equal amount of capital in the business and the rest being managed through venture capitalist
and sponsor. Partner will have equal stake in the business and each hold 10% equity; and
decisions will be made based on the designation of the partners. Furthermore, all liabilities and
profits shall be divides equally, and additional details too shall be mentioned in the partnership
deed agreed upon by all the parties involved.

Statement of Financing Need

For initiating the business, “Goodness Holder” would need a total amount of BDT 800,000/-.
Funding mechanism would be 50-50 which means 50% of this amount, BDT 400,000/- would
come from owner’s equity and the rest 50% would come from other investors. Furthermore, we
will use this money for expansion.

Personal reason

We are concerned with women’s safety due to increasing number of rape and sexual assault. The
harassment was and is still increasing day by day.

Skills that can contribute

All of us are students and two of us are doing major in marketing. So, two of us can help to
advertising the product and sales related activity. One of us is doing major in HRM and he can
help with the employees’ related things. We have a clear and precise knowledge about the market
from where we will collect our product from. One of us knows about application based work. He
will contribute by developing the app.

Market viability

The product that we have chosen has a great market viability in our perspective. We have
evaluated the market demand, existing competition and viability of the product itself. We need to
measure the potential market size and demand of our product. There is no such kind of products
that is giving the services like our product.
According to Dhaka Tribune, this year Bangladesh witnesses 592 rapes in six months. Our target
customers are only female.

Market Gap Analysis

To conduct our business we have chosen a location, which is in Bashundhara. This choice of
location affirms availability of products to the customers. People of the Bashundhara not yet
have the chance of using our product. Many women have been travelling and doing jobs in this
area. Therefore, for this place our product will be a favorable market option. This location is also
very suitable for any kind of needs such as electronic devices, factories and shopping malls are
here. Approximately 900 family lives there where 300 of them are middle class. So, we will be
targeting them initially as our customer. These people are not being able to meet the demand of
safety, as the supply is lesser than the demand. So cheaper and affordable Goodness Holder
would be good initiative for this area.

In Bangladesh, the rape is increasing rapidly. Our product is very inexpensive and environmental
friendly. The demand for it is high but in our country, we are only able to supply 62% of the total
demand from the existing capacity.

Response regarding harassment yes no

Facing harassment 36.8% 63.2%

Harassment from new people 21.1% 84.2%

Unusual situations treat as harassment 26.3% 78.9%

Harassement from different perspective 42.1% 57.9%

Voluntary organisation Moonlight Development Society has introduced an innovative new

personal rape alarm to protect Rohingya women from sexual abuse at Chakmarkul’s
Keruntoli Refugee Camp in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. Moonlight Development Society’s Anik
Mahmud told the Dhaka Tribune that 175 women and girls aged from 12-25 at the camp
had received the electronic device since distribution began on November 21, with 300
more to be dispensed in the near future. He added that the devices may be distributed to
other camps as well once completed at Keruntoli. The rape alarm is a small, handheld
electronic device that emits a loud siren when activated, with the aim of attracting help
from passersby in case of a sexual assault.

Some of the rape devices in the world:

1. Athena
2. Safelet
3. Watch over me

BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT ANALYSIS

 The political environment of Bangladesh is usually impossible. There are frequent

strikes, terrorist threats and many more political obstacles. Political factors play a
significant role in determining the factors that can impact on Goodness Holder
Limited’s long term profitability in a certain country or market. Goodness Holder
Limited can closely analyze the following factors before entering or investing in a
certain market.
 Political stability and importance in woman safety sector in the country's
economy.
 Risk of military attack
 Level of corruption - especially the level of control in the woman safety sector.
 Legal framework for the implementation of the contract
 Intellectual property protection
 Trade regulations & tariffs related to undergarments service
 Anti-trust laws related to undergarments sector.
 Industrial Safety Regulations in the undergarments sector.

Economic:

 The economy of Bangladesh is quite resilient, and the inflation rate is low. Macro
environmental reasons such as economic cycles define overall demand and define
overall investment in the economy. Although competition rules such as micro
environmental factors strongly impact competitive advantage. Economic factors that
Goodness Holder Limited should consider while conducting PESTEL analysis are -
 Skill level of workforce in undergarments industry.
 Labor costs and productivity in the economy.
 Ability of financial markets – Goodness Holder Limited is required to raise capital
in the market

Social:

 In Bangladesh, Society's culture and ways to do things affect the culture of a culture in
an environment. Social factors that leadership of Goodness Holder Limited should
analyze for PESTEL analysis are -
 Culture (gender roles, social conventions etc.)
 Attitudes (health, environmental consciousness, etc.).
 Entrepreneur spirit and greater nature of society. Some societies encourage
entrepreneurs and do nothing.
 Standard level of education in the Todler Town Child Care Limited.

PORTER’S FIVE FORCES

Threat of new Entrants:

New careers of undergarments are innovation, new ways to do new work, and Goodness Holder
Limited to reduce costs through low service value strategies and offer customers new value
suggestions. Goodness Holder Limited has to make effective barriers to manage all these
challenges and to protect its competitive edge.

Threat of Substitutes:

When a new service fulfills the benefits of the industry, similar customer meets in different
ways. For example, services like Dropbox and Google Drive are available for storage
hardware drives. An alternative service threat is high if it offers a price that the industry
offers different offers from current sources.

Bargaining Power of Customers:

The buyer often has plenty of claims. They want to buy the best possible gifts by paying the
lowest possible price. Goodness Holder Limited profitability stress in this long-term. Small
and more powerful customer base Goodness Holder Limited has the capabilities of customers
to have higher bidders and their capacity to get increased promotion and offers.

Bargaining Power of Suppliers:

For our business, all most all the companies in the undergarments industry sell theirs product
to customers. Customer in dominant position can decrease the margins Goodness Holder
Limited can earn in the market. Powerful clients in undergarments sector use their
negotiating power to extract higher prices from the firms. The overall impact of higher clients
bargaining power is that it lowers the overall profitability of undergarments.

Competitive Rivalry:

If the competition between an existing players of an industry is intense then it will grab the
prices and reduce the overall profit of the industry. Goodness Holder Limited manages a less
competitive undergarments industry. This competition is toll on the overall long-term profit of
the organization.

Pricing Model

We will use dynamic pricing model. For now on we have decided to sale per product 1,150/-
BDT.
Dynamic evaluating is an estimating methodology in which organizations set adaptable costs for
items or administrations dependent on current market requests. Organizations can change costs
dependent on calculations that consider contender evaluating, free market activity, and other
outside components in the market. In unique estimating, the cost isn't immovably set; rather it
changes dependent on evolving conditions, for example, increments sought after at specific
occasions, sort of client being focused on or changing advertising conditions. Dynamic
evaluating is a typical practice in a few ventures. Every industry adopts a marginally unique
strategy to repeating dependent on its needs and the interest for the item.

But we will try to charge the same price continuously and from the beginning we’ll charge a fair
price rather than a higher price.

Sustainability

Financial sustainability is achieved when our business is able to deliver services to the market at
a price that covers our expenses and generates profit. In fiscally maintainable organizations, long
haul gainfulness takes need over any fleeting increases. Therefore, to operate a financially
sustainable business, we need to develop long term goals that outline where we want our
business to stand financially in the future. The profit we want to make, our level of debt and cash
flow requirements all need to be taken into consideration. We will develop a plan that will help to
arrive at this position within a specified time frame. While making decisions that will affect the
financial situation our business, our focus should be on achieving our long term goals. Avoid
making decisions that will give us a short term financial gain but have a negative impact on our
ability to achieve long term goals. Maintaining cash flow requirements is another crucial part of
operating a financially sustainable business. We need to ensure that have enough cash coming
into the business to cover our outgoing expenses. Maintaining accurate and clear financial
records will help us to manage our financial sustainability.

Eco-friendly

Our business will be eco-friendly. Our product will not make any harm to the environment.

Ethical

We will consider positive ethical practice toward:

 Shareholders regarding financial statements

 Management
 Employees regarding Worker safety, Hiring/firing workers, Worker’s rights
 Customer regarding Quality, Product safety, fair price
 Environment regarding Product safety, reducing pollution

Description of Venture

A. Product

This is a special kind of ‘Sports Bra’ which have four sensor points.

Nature of Product
If anyone touches the bra of the user intentionally or unintentionally then it will send a signal to
an electronic device which will have Bluetooth connected. There is an application in the phone
of the user which will receive the signal from the device via Bluetooth. The app will ask in a
time span of 10-20sec whether it is an intentional touch or not. If the answer is ‘No’ then the app
will stop. But if the user’s answer is ’Yes’ or don’t give any answer then it will itself track the
location through GPS and send a text to the nearest police station and also four contacts provided
by the user.

B. Service

It will provide a self-protection service. As now-a-days sexual harassment is increasing in a

higher rate. So this product will help to avoid harassment to the user who will be wearing it.

C. Size of Business

It will be a small business in the starting as we have no investor and we will be starting
producing the product with a very low amount of capital.

D. Office Equipment & Personnel

Initially we will be using a room of our house as the office. A big table along with 4 chairs will
be there along with a ceiling fan and 2 bright lights. And another room of the house will be used
to assemble the products. There will be three workers along with three chairs and three sewing
machines who will place the chip in the perfect places of the bra.

Describing the Venture:

1. The mission of our new venture is to assure safety to the women society at a very reasonable
price.
2. This kind of product is yet to come in Bangladesh and there is also demand of this product in
the market as per our survey result. Most importantly safety of women is a burning issue in
current time. So people won’t think about the price as safety comes before everything else.

3. We four of us along with a cousin of a member of us agreed to start this business. He is a

student of EEE department and have already made a sample of this product.

4. Our product is “Sports Bra” which has four sensor chips in it. It will eradicate rape and
harassment in public or private place.

5. If anyone touches the chest of the user intentionally or unintentionally then it will send a
signal to an electronic device which will have Bluetooth connected. There is an application in the
phone of the user which will receive the signal from the device. The app will ask in a time span
of 10-20sec whether it is an intentional touch or not. If the answer is ‘No’ then the app will stop.
But if the user’s answer is ‘Yes’ or don’t give any answer then it will itself track the location
through GPS and send a text to the nearest police station and four contacts provided by the user.
We are still looking if there is any product of this type in the market. We are thinking about
taking patent of the product if we find out there is no such product in the market.

6. We will primarily locate our business in the house we are living as we have a lower amount of
capital and we will be selling and promoting our product through social media.

7. It is a new building. We have also taken the permission of the owner to perform our business
works in the building.

8. Basically we staying bachelor in this house for more than 2 years. We pay a basic monthly rent
which won’t be counted as our business cost because owner didn’t increase any extra cost for
carrying our business work in the house.

9. First of all we have a very low capital for renting a office and working place. Secondly it is a
residential area so it will be quiet place to work in peace and also for operating the business as
we can target primarily the people living in this area for selling our product.

10. Initially we will be using a room of our house as the office. A big table along with 4 chairs
will be there along with a ceiling fan and 2 bright lights. And another room of the house will be
used to assemble the products.
11. No we will purchase the equipment as we just need some basic furniture for the office.

12. Well I have a little experience about business as I have done a small invested food business in
a cultural function. It was a loss project. But it made me learn that a business in primary stage
should never be of huge investment. Huge investment without perfect estimation and profit leads
to a huge loss.

Production Plan/ Service Delivery Model

1. We will be responsible for partial manufacturing. As we will be buying the ‘Sports Bra’ from a
manufacturing company and we will put sensor chip inside the bra by our trained worker.

2. We were looking for manufacturer who will assure quality and also at a reasonable price. So
we found ‘BD Fashion Tex’ as a reliable source.

3. We selected this subcontractor because they will provide us export quality ‘sports Bra’ at a
very reasonable price. As we won’t be buying much in amount so they confirmed us it won’t be a
problem and they won’t increase the price.

4. The price will be around $1.66-$2.55 per piece. As we are going to buy little amount of
product so they said written contract is not necessary. If we buy in higher amount in future than
they will be doing a written contract.

5.
Buying sports bra from
Manufacturer

Buying sensor chip from

local supplier

Inserting sensor chip

inside the bra by our own
worker

6. For immediate manufacturing we will need three sewing machine and some necessary
accessories for sewing the sensor chip inside the sports bra.

7. As mentioned earlier we will need sports bra, sensor chip as raw materials.
8. We won’t be having any new suppliers because we already had a verbal agreement with ‘ BD
Fashion Tex’ as for bulk orders they will go to a written contract with us and will assure the
quantity of supply along with the quality.

9. The Cost of manufacturing (per piece) will be-

Fields of manufacturing Amount

Raw materials-

Sports Bra (per piece) Tk 160

Sensor Tk 150

Electronic device Tk 200

Tk 510
Total raw material cost
Tk 150
Workers salary and other costs

TK 660

Total manufacturing cost ( Per piece)

10. Currently we have thought about Producing 500 pieces as we have a small capital. In future
we are thinking about producing 1000-2000 pieces of finished goods for a year as we have a
huge response from the targeted market and it is very pleasant for us to see that every single
women wants this product in the market as soon as possible because no matter what safety comes
first’.
Description of company’s operation:

Our business operation typically comprises Four key areas. They are:

Location

Process Equipment

Labor

--Location: Basically we will operate our business from our house which in Bashundhara.
Initially we won’t have any physical store. We will selling through Facebook page.

--Equipment: Best quality product, strong customer support and proper use of customer
touchpoint would make our job done.

--Labor: As it’s a start-up, so initially human labor will be provided by us. And we do not need to
provide heavy labor as per our product structure.

-- Process: We will be very much committed to customers and that’s why we will never tolerate
any sort of crux regarding the quality. We will manufacture the inner ware from a third party
garment and the main Chip will be installed by us. So that we can ensure the maximum amount
of quality service.

Market Plan (7P’s)

Product: Product this is a special kind of ‘Sports Bra’ which have four sensor points. Nature of
Product if anyone touches the breast of the user intentionally or unintentionally then it will send
a signal to an electronic device which will have Bluetooth connected. There is an application in
the phone of the user which will receive the signal from the device. The app will ask in a time
span of 10-20sec whether it is an intentional touch or not. If the answer is ‘No’ then the app will
stop. But if the user’s answer is ’Yes’ or don’t give any answer then it will itself track the
location through GPS and send a text to the nearest police station and four contacts provided by
the user.

Pricing: As this is something totally new in Bangladesh and people would find it unique. A
regular sports Bra cost 300 BDT. There will be chipset and sensor attached with the inner ware.
So, chip and sensors price will be associated with the Bra. Chipset costs 600 BDT. So
considering the profit, price will be 1190 BDT.

Promotion: We have chosen Facebook and Instagram as Two most important promotional tools.
Initially Facebook will provide a platform to get the highest level of people attention. We will be
creating a Facebook group in which all our founding members will add girls in that group so that
they can directly communicate with the founding members. As a further approach we will meet
with some girls awareness organizations to reach out more target market. User’s word of mouth
will be the most effective tool which promote our business.

Place: It’s an online market place. Initially we will sell through online markets and would take
order via Facebook. We will use a portion of our house as office, and another portion of our
house will be using to assemble products.
Packaging: As it is a confidential and sensitive element of female’s attire that’s why packaging
will be as simple as girls want. As a product it does not need to be lucrative and catchy to grab
attention.

Positioning: Our product will stand for “Safety”. This is the first and the most important
problem that we are trying to solve. Our product will make girls feel as safe as they are in home.
So for this we would like to ensure the best of our product and people get the best of it.

People: We are targeting the women society which starting from 10 to above. So every women
no matter if she works outside or household, make sure that its secured everywhere.

Organizational Plan
Form of Ownership: This a startup business which will be conducted by Four founding members.
So it is a “Partnership” business.
Identification of partners or principal shareholders: Our Four founding members will be in
charge of four departments in which Kazi Mashrur Rahman will be working as a CEO of
business. Rumat, Dhrubo and Yasin will take care of Finance, Marketing and HR respectively.

Authority of principal: As Mashrur is the founder and CEO of the business he will the whom we
will be accountable to. But all the decision regarding the business will be made jointly.

Assessment of risk

Evaluate Weaknesses of Business: From our SWOT analysis we found THREE major
weaknesses of our business. Those are: Issue Sensitivity, Less market coverage, Promotional
Strategy.

 Issue Sensitivity: As it is ware of female body parts so its quiet tough to communicate
with consumers directly.
 Less Market Coverage: As it is a feminine product so we cannot target male consumers
directly which is half of our population.
 Promotional Strategy: Because it is a sensitive product so cannot take the advantage of
using all the promotional mix. Because it is awkward to promote openly.
New Technology: Though it’s a new technology but we will be updating it day by day. We would
like to find out the problems that we might face after launching it. Although we will patent our
product still We will aware of the market and the future competitors.

Contingency Plan: After conducting the survey among the targeted group of consumers we are
kind of assured ourselves that we will reach to the point that we have aimed for. Even if the plan
failed we will be finding out reasons for not working out as we expected and solve them out.
Furthermore we will be diverted in garment industry. Because our targeted basic product is one
of the fundamental needs of adult women’s.
