LETTER OF MOTIVATION

I am Mr. [Name], having a higher secondary school leaving certificate in pre-engineering from
Pakistan. Just after schooling, I started working as trainee Project Engineering in geotech limited
company in Islamabad. The training covers different duties about soil sciences, geotechnical, soil
mechanics etc. I am writing here to show my deep interest in “Bachelor of Science in Sustainable
Building Design”.
The main reason I chose Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Building Design at Sapienza
University of Rome was the opportunity to solve global issues with innovative ideas. I am a unique
thinker, and I love tackling challenging problems. I want to apply my pre-engineering background
to address higher-level business problems and put forth creative solutions. However, to solve these
problems I am lacking skills that I believe I can gain through bachelor in sustainable building
design program.
During training at geotech, I have focused my training heavily on structural design, soil mechanics
and every available structural design course. I spent a summer working as a Project Engineering
Intern at geotech, a highly regarded general contracting firm in Pakistan, where I learned how to see
a structure from all perspectives, including the owner, contractor, engineer, and architect. As a
higher school certificate with soil engineering experience, I am confident I could add value in my
skills by attending bachelor course at Sapienza University of Rome.
I am looking for a to improve my skills that I can use where I can work for the people, and strive for
high quality projects while being empathetic and curious about those who will use the structures I
help create. As a student at Sapienza University of Rome, I will interact with expert professors,
students from different countries and high-class facilities. I am currently using what I have learned
from working with geotech to create more sustainable buildings. I want to continue this line of work
by eventually joining Sapienza University of Rome as a student and improve my knowledge in
sustainable buildings.
