General
These options are used for a good preparation for your
interpretation. You will get a reliability project configurati-
on and a better file and data handling.

PROGRAM PATHS:
This is the file path definition for external software like
CavWalk, CavViewII, CavScan also third party applications.

NUMERICAL FORMATS:
Here you can setup the decimal precision.

PARTIAL SURVEYS:
Setup for the partial survey recognition.

UPDATE:
Here you can select automatic update search for
CavView II after startup. Activate the checkbox to keep
your software up to date.

1.5 File menu - Printer settings

Before printing a graph, it is useful to check the placement of


labels and other objects on the graph page to ensure that they are
in the desired location. To confirm object placement CavView II
offers the viewing mode “Print Preview…”.

1.5.1 File menu - Print preview

Print preview
Print preview mode provides a display of the entire graph page, including the margins. This view mode provides an accurate dis-
play of how the page will look when printing. Page zooming tools are provided to enhance viewing. To print from the previewing
mode, click the PRINT button. This action opens the Print dialog box. Click OK to print one copy of the child window page. To exit
the previewing mode without printing, click the CLOSE button.

You can select between a automatic title creation or user defined inputs.

If you want to add a logo to your interpretation report, please choose this option.

The Show section opens the window with the graph of the horizontal cross sections and a part of the header list.

To scroll from one to another graph, click


on the arrows up and down arrows:

With this routine it is possible to create top view plots as “All sections” or “Envelopes” (using the horizontal and vertical
sections):

4. Scale Menu
Each 2D graph layer contains a set of X and Y coordinates axes. The properties of the X and Y axis are controlled in the
respective Scale dialog boxes.

4.1 Scale menu - Horizontal scale box

Once the Scale dialog box is open, controls are available on multiple tabs to edit the scale and minor/major tick marks of
the Horizontal Cross Sections:

Once the Scale dialog box is open, controls are available on multiple tabs to edit the scale, minor/major tick marks and
X-Factor of the Vertical Cross Sections.

5. Report Menu
5.1 Report menu - show/create report

Here you can select different types of reports and data overviews for printing.

Show/create new report shows the pre-existing text report from the current sonar result which can be saved as *.txt file.

5.2 Report menu - show cavity informations

Shows all important detailed informations of the selected cavity.

Creates and shows a short overview report from the current sonar results in graphic format. When clicking the Show
cavity overview button the pop up window “Cavern information” will be opened.

Select the “Overview…” button


and the pop up window “Cavity
overview options” will
be opened. Make your choice and
then click on the OK button.

The country settings are used for the pre-selection of special logos and numerical/data/language formats:

This function opens a window with a graph showing the relationship of radii and diameters of the cavern calculated out
of the results of the sonar survey.

The 3D-data export gives the possibility to convert the measurement data into a three dimensional*.wlk file (CavWalk
Professional format) or *.dxf file (ordinary CAD software format).

8. Setting menu
8.1 Setting menu - Show list of diagram components

The list of diagram components is active only, when a graph window is open. The list of diagram components makes it
possible to change the attitude of the diagram components as there are axis and grid parameter, line parameters,
colors, line type and so on. Click on one of the parameters in the graphic object list and then on Edit. The windows
below can now be opened.

Switches the fill mode on or off in the graphic windows.

Switches the transparent Modus on or off inside the graphic windows.
