making and demonstate accountability. Leads Analysis of data to inform decision-making and
demonstrate accountability.
3. Professional growth goal(s). What is your goal for this professional growth plan? Describe how this
As my first year as a counselor, my goal is to use data to drive programs that provides equitable
services for the student demographic that I serve. By using data that has intentional focus, this will
allow me to create curriculum that focuses on the needs of our students. Attendance data that is in
direct relation to truancy and absences will allow me to support families with barriers that may cause
students to not show up. With the support and collaboration with family support workers using
McKinney Vento, transportation can be provided and immediate support to help mitigate the barriers
With the Behavior data, specifically using the staff incident log data that reports, I will be able to
provide tier two services that helps students learn skills to help increase their time inclass. Support
tier one curriculum with Kelso choices to do independent problem solving.
For the third part of support, I will use data to support curriculum to push students in reaching their
highest potention with an equity lens. By using standard data that is provided through state testing,
With data that involves attendance, I plan to create attendance challenges with students who have
the have the highest 10% absence rate. The challenge would provide services for all students, but
focus my data on the 10% that has the highest attendance record. Using supports that includes our
community partners for transportation (McKinney Vento), family advocate (connecting with families to
help with emergent services needed), and small groups that I can provide to help with students
having an individualized support to motivate them with attending school on time and regularly.
For the behavior, I plan on providing leadership opportunities for students to provide them
accountability for behavior in the school. By providing activities in relation to new student tour guides
and leadership academies during lunch dates, I will provide goals for students who have the highest
disciplinary data to use their leadership skills to make different and positive choices in order to have
the opportunity to be a rolemodel in the school.
For coursework, I plan on providing goals for classes to be able to win (weekly) that will challenge the
students with their reading, writing, and math skills. This will focus on their weekly goals that is made
in class and given in weekly assemblies. By creating a trophy to be passed through classes will allow
for tier one support on pushing students to maximize their potential in the core subjects.
By supporting positive behavior interventions for all three data aspects, it will allow for student to be
supported through their growth and support when they make decisions that does not support their
being their best selves. They still have the opportunity to make a mistake, correct the mistake, and
move forward with positive learning outcomes.
6. Proposed evidence. Describe the evidence you plan to collect to support your goals. Evidence may
include areas beyond test scores such as attendance rates, discipline referrals, programs
implemented, student work, videos of lessons, and other student or adult data.
I will use truancy data from the prior year which will help navigate my semester one program while
using pre and post surveys to gauge the need of students. Discipline logs will be tracked and used to
help support the decrease of students leaving the learning environment to discilplinary supports
needed. State SBAC testing support will used be from the year prior, along with quarterly testing that
happens to help gauge adjustments and accommodations that may be needed to make sure all
students are provided equitable services for success including possible further evaluations to
consider 504 supports.
