Theme of Course
Internet of Things (IoT) enables process automation
and operational efficiency in every industry. One of
the target markets for IoT is the energy systems. IoT
enabled energy management systems give way to
new smarter grids which promise unprecedented
savings, improved security and enhanced efficiency.
IoT significantly reduces human effort and provide
efficient operation and control. The concept of IoT
includes multiple protocols/standards which imparts
higher level of flexibility, reliability and inter-
operability. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a key
enabler for smart cities. Presently, IoT applications in
energy management systems has emerged as a
significant research topic in the global power
industry.

equity and quality”. ATAL academy will conduct a
series of workshops in thrust areas identified by
AICTE.

About MANIT, Bhopal
Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology
(MANIT), Bhopal, is an Institution of national
importance and one of the proficient engineering
institutes of India, which contributed many
outstanding professionals for India and abroad. The
institute was established in the year 1960. At present,
the institute is conducting undergraduate,
postgraduate degree courses and Ph.D. programmes
in different disciplines of engineering and applied
sciences.
Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the
oldest departments of MANIT and offers one
B. Tech. course, two M. Tech. courses
(Electric Drives and Power System) and Ph. D.
