ITCZ inter-tropical convergence zone

 The movement of the ltcz is determined by the sun 🔆

 Unlike in temperate regions where different masses meet and form fronts air masses that meet
in regions mix and mix without forming a front.
 When they meet the zone is the one known as the ltcz
 When they mix its called ltcz and move in one mass but their effect is they form heavy rainfall
 The ltcz follows the apparent path of the sun so the ITCZ is determined by the position of the
sun 🌞
 It determines the rainy season within the tropics
 Very active between January and March within the southern hemisphere
 When they meet they don’t form a front but the lTCZ is a form of a front so they just mix with
the lTCZ being an example of a front
 Its not stationary (ITCZ)
 In July the sun is in the northern hemisphere resulting in southern hemisphere with high
pressure and the northern with low pressure the ltcz will move from
 Hammatan winds from the desert (dry and hot🔥)

Itcz’s mix compared to air masses that don’t

The zone they mix on is called ltcz (inter-tropical convergence zone )

They follow the path of the sun in Africa

The changes can only be seen over the land but in oceans you can’t really see

The Itcz is not stable ( moves around )

ITCZ is an area of intense flow pressure within the tropic where oceanic and continental air masses meet
