Self-Reflection Essay (part 3)

Your Legacy

Jake Sexton

After graduation, I have many ideas of what educational step I want to take next. I

haven't come up with an exact plan, because I feel like it depends on a lot of different things. The

two colleges I have narrowed my decision to its Dixie State University and Utah Valley

University. I have a lot of friends going to both schools, and they both offer completely different

Landscapes and environments. I think with either of them, I would do one year of college, and

then I would go to the Disney college program internship, and learn how to do business with

them, and that would last half of the Year, while I would get credit for doing it. That's been a

dream of mine, and it would be really cool experience to live in Florida or California and do that.

Some Majors I have looked at is advertising and promotions manager, animation, professional

pilot Aviation, communication or journalist expert, communication / public relations emphasis,

or political science, or a marketing degree. So as you can tell by that long list, there's a lot of

George we way of ideas I could do that I would be interested in, I just don't want to go into one

of those and end up hating it afterward. Some point as well, I would like to do a college trip to

Italy and spend a semester learning about art history and get to learn more about one of my

heroes Leonardo da Vinci. I think with college, I'll probably end up staying at Olive Garden but

just at a different location so if I go to Dixie I can just transfer to the one in St George, and if I go

to UVU I can just go to the one in Provo. I like the job and the money is good, and I love people
even though that would change. I think education is important to an extent. I think the traditional

route everyone takes isn't for everyone. I feel like there's a lot of systemic traditional ways that

school is now these days, and that should be changed because not everyone fits the same mold.

So with my kids, I will tell them and teach them the importance of school but I wouldn't tell

them that they need to get straight A's or anything like that I would tell them to try and focus on

them being healthy and happy before anything else. And that they have dreams and that they

would want to go do those dreams and do whatever it takes to achieve them. And help them in

that direction as well.
