Install Application Software

Application software, or simply applications, are often called


productivity programs or end-user programs because they enable the
user to complete tasks such as creating documents, spreadsheets, databases,
and publications, doing online research, sending email, designing graphics,
running businesses, and even playing games. Application software is specific to
the task it is designed for and can be as simple as a calculator application or
as complex as a word processing application. When you begin creating a
document, the word processing software has already set the margins, font
style and size, and the line spacing for you. But you can change these
settings, and you have many more formatting options available. For example,
the word processor application makes it easy to add color, headings, and
pictures or delete, copy, move, and change the document's appearance to suit
your needs. Microsoft Word is a popular word-processing application that is
included in the software suite of applications called Microsoft Office.
How to Install Microsoft Office Application:
1. Run the Microsoft Office Installer
2. Enter your product key into the space provided and press the Continue
button once Microsoft validates your key.

3. Put a check mark in the box to indicate that you agree with them and
press the Continue button.
4. Press the Install Now button to begin the installation. A progress bar
will indicate how far along the installation has progressed.
5. Click Close when the installation completes.

6. To access the newly-installed Microsoft Office 2010 applications, go to


Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office and click on the program that
you wish to use. When Microsoft Office 2010 runs for the first time a
window will appear asking you to help protect and improve Microsoft
Office.
7. Place a dot in the radio button beside Use Recommended Settings and
click OK. The settings will be saved and you will be able to start using
your newly installed Microsoft Office 2010.
