Purpose
The purpose of this document is to describe the JDE.INI settings necessary for using Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 with Oracle JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne. This information applies to development client machines, deployment servers, and enterprise servers.

Steps for Development Clients

Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013


Install Visual Studio 2013 from Microsoft’s Web site. You should only install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 on operating systems
supported both by Microsoft Visual Studio and Oracle JD Edwards. Refer to the Oracle Certification system on support.oracle.com for
the latest service packs, releases, and operating systems supported with Visual Studio 2013 (the information will be under the JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne Deployment Server and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development Client products).

You must install Visual Studio 2013 to the C: drive.

Install Windows Software Development Kit for Windows 8.1


Install the Windows Software Development Kit for Windows 8.1 from Microsoft’s Web site. You should install this specific version even
if your operating system is not Windows 8.1 but only if the operating system is supported both by Oracle JD Edwards and Microsoft
Windows Software Development Kit for Windows 8.1. Refer to the Oracle Certification system on support.oracle.com for the latest
service pack, releases, and operating systems supported with Windows Software Development Kit for Windows 8.1 (the information will
be under the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Deployment Server and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development Client products).

Modify the JDE.INI File


For development clients and deployment servers open up the C:\Windows\JDE.INI file and set this parameter.

SimultaneousBuild=4

The ActiveConsole will need to be restarted in order to successfully run all client based package build processes (client package build,
busbuild.exe, OMW busbuild, etc..).

Steps for Enterprise servers

Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013


Install Visual Studio 2013 from Microsoft’s Web site. You should only install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 on operating systems
supported by both Microsoft Visual Studio and Oracle JD Edwards. Refer to the Oracle Certification system on support.oracle.com for
the latest service packs, releases, and operating systems supported with Visual Studio 2013 (the information will be under the JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne Enterprise Server product).

You must install Visual Studio 2013 to the C: drive.

Modify the JDE.INI File


For enterprise servers open up the C:\JDEdwardsPPack\E910\system\bin32\JDE.INI file and set the following parameters. The settings
below assume you’ve install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 and Microsoft Windows Kits 8.1 to their default locations.
