Objective:

 Basic Introduction to SAP2000


 Modelling of simple beam
 Assigning load
 Displaying Bending Moment (BM) and Shear Force (SF) Diagram of a simply supported
beam

Steps:
1. Open SAP2000
2. Click on File > New Model

3. Select Grid Only

4. Select the values as below and click OK

5. Click on Draw Frame/Cable/Tendon

6. Draw beam by clicking on the two ends

7. Select the left joint & and assign restraint(hinge support)

8. Select the right joint & and assign restraint(roller support) & click on xz icon on toolbar

9. Select the frame drawn

10. Click on 3-D window and click on xz icon

11. Run the model

12. Save the model in a separate folder

13. To show SFD and BMD follow the following steps
