8.2 Expansion vessel

Dimensioning expansion vessel
Internal volume in HMA100V and HMA100VM for calculating
expansion vessel is 270ℓ. The expansion vessel’s volume must
be at least 5 % of the total volume.
HMS14 0V has 18ℓof expansion vessel. which can cover the
total system water volume mentioned in the below table.

Safety relief valve 5 m higher Same 5 m lower

position than vessel level than vessel
System volume [L] 390 330 240

If the system volume exceeds the limit, extra expansion

vessel
is necessary. Install it in the same level and same pre-
pressure Expansion vessel
as the original one. (HMS140V)

Installation

8.3 Volume Vessel (Buffer – For under-floor heating)

This is required for the minimum configuration.
The volume in the climate system must be at least 35-75 liter.
For systems with under floor cooling/heating at least 70-150 liter is required.
If this is not fulfilled, a volume vessel (buffer) must be installed.

3.4 Relief Valve

A free flow valve is required for some docking options,
which means that an overflow valve must be installed.

30
Installation
8.5 Extra Circulation Pump
When connecting extra circulation pump, the pressure , maximum flow,
minimum flow an other requirements must be met.
Pump capacity must be calculated with carefully.

4. Install the refrigerant pipes
4.1 Piping Connections: (All Outdoor unit)
There are 4 punch-out holes to access
the piping directions.
4.2 Pipe size and adequate torque

Note:
1. In tightening the Service valves take care
not to exert excessive torque so not to damage
the inner part of the valve that might cause gas
leakage.
2. Always use two set of Spanners.

32
Installation

4. Install the refrigerant pipes Same as A2A

4.3 Flaring procedure
Ensure that proper Flaring procedure
should be strictly followed to avoid gas
leakage.

33
Installation

4.4 Piping Insulation

1. Use insulation that can withstand 120
degree C
2. Insulation thickness must be 13mm or
more.
3. Insulate both Gas and Liquid pipes.

4.5 Air Tightness Test

34
Installation

4.6 Evacuation procedure: Same as A2A

Evacuation: (For Refrigerant Piping)
Evacuate the system at least 1 hour to ensure that all possible air
and moisture in the system are removed.
The vacuum gauge shows –101kPa or lower (-755 mmHg or lower)
If the gauge reading increased checked for a possible leakage.
