Master of European Politics and Policies
The Master of European Politics and Policies has both an explicit European and a public administration orientation. Your post-graduate
study will include - on the one hand - the study of institutions, decision-making and policies of the European Union. And the analysis
of public sector problems and solutions in European countries on the other hand. Being part of a wider European Master in Public
Administration Network, you will have the opportunity to go abroad for the second semester. We seek to combine academic excellence
– facilitated through research-based education, taught in a small, international group – with a continuing concern for the practical
challenges professionals face. You will hear first-hand from practitioners and are invited for multiple visits to the EU institutions.

Master of European Social Security

This post-graduate master programme provides you with a specialized, research based study of social security in the widest sense
of the word. Renowned professors from different European universities will offer you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of
social security and social protection from a legal, policy, economical, administrative and philosophical perspective. As well as being
multi-disciplinary, this programme also contains a strong comparative element as it focuses on the provision of social protection
rights across Europe. This offers you the opportunity to understand the many different approaches to social security that co-exist
within our old continent … at the same time it provides you with a better understanding of your own national system. Using a unique
teaching approach, whereby the classes and workshop organised in Leuven are limited and whereby you study for the remainder
of the time from your home, allows you to remain professionally active while studying at the same time.

Master of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives

The Master of European Studies: Transnational and Global Perpsectives offers a specialised analysis of the internal dynamics in
Europe and of the EU's external policies in the world. The interdisciplinary programme consists of two modules. The first has a
strong focus on the transnational dynamics and history of Europe, assessing Europe as a continent made of historical, cultural and
social diversities and connectivities. The second module emphasises the political, economic and legal dimensions of the external
policies of the European Union in a context of globalisation and global governance. Through these two specific modules, the programme
addresses the fundamental internal and external challenges Europe faces today.

Advanced Master of Laws (LLM)

This post-graduate program mixes foundation courses in slightly larger groups, with exclusive courses in small groups in your
two chosen specialization areas (among the following: economic law, banking and finance, human rights, social law, intellectual
property, external relations and diplomacy). The specialized knowledge which you will acquire in these areas will be crowned with
clinics in small groups, led by senior lawyers and officials from the Brussels European scene. The degree gives you a thorough
legal education right in the shadows of the European legal institutions.

Master in European and International Taxation

This post-graduate programme is a specialized programme focused on cross-border problems in direct and indirect taxation.
It provides an understanding of the structure of different systems of income- and consumption taxes and of the basic rules governing
the areas of European and international taxation. It also focuses on specific problems such as transfer pricing, financial instruments,
hybrid entities and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (special subject courses). The educational concept is based on our
experience that the best way for students with a basic theoretical background to learn is through debating practical problems
with peers and professors, and trying to elaborate solutions in short papers. The learning process therefore takes place through
discussions and writing assignments in small groups of ten students at most under the direction of a course leader.
