Abstract
A police station is responsible of public security by preventing the crimes
and maintaining law and order in a society. There are numerous criminal records and
other police station data that needs to be stored. In Pakistan, the procedure of filing a
FIR or placing a complaint is done manually. We will design an application that
would allow people to file a complaint by filling an online form sitting at home.
Observing the intensity of the incident the authoritative would investigate further.
This would not only save time but also reduces the pen work.
1. Clear Statement of the Problem
Starting from FIR registration to culprit/ suspect nomination, case proceedings
and closures etc. required a lot of manual and tedious work. The retrieval of FIR
details when required was also a time-consuming procedure. The application would
be designed in a way that the entire FIR registration and tracking process would be
automated. All FIRs with their progress details would be few clicks away from police
authorities. 
2. Objectives
The objective of this project is to reduce the burden on police from keeping a
pile of crime form records. The manual work makes it difficult to monitor and track
specific FIRs or crimes. Also, this would save time not only of the police officers but
also the victim, who wants to file a case. This would also keep the victim/complainant
updated regarding the status of their complaint.
3. Motivation
The motivation behind this project was that people often feel nervous and
scared to go to the police station, registering an online FIR would be easy specially
for women.

4. Introduction and Background

Punjab police introduced online complaint system, but this existing system was
found to be less secure due to lack of registration facility. The record track of
evidence was also not satisfying enough.

 Through proposed system, citizens would be able to track the status of their
complaint. This system will be more useful in searching the details of the criminal.
Security is maintained in this system so as to ensure that only the authorized users
will have access to the system. It would also help in getting the record of the
criminals of many years back.
The features that would be involved in this application are:
Authorized access:

Victim’s record:
Keeping the record of victim or complainant would retrain people
from making false accusations and fake FIR’s.
Criminal’s record:
This record would hold the information regarding the criminal.
Complaint record:
The details of the complain would be registered and stored in this
record.
Police database:
This would hold the details of police officer dealing with particular
complaint and there would be mentioned government rules against particular
crimes and anyone can access it.

5. Related Work
 Recently, Punjab Information Technology Board introduced online
FIR registration system that is is integrated with NADRA, Police
Human Resource Management Information System, Anti Vehicle
Lifting System etc. which ensures data integrity across all systems and
speeds up the data entry process.
  The “Qeemat Punjab app” was launched by the Punjab Information
Technology Board (PITB) before Ramadan to monitor the products
and commodities prices and for receiving complaints regarding high
prices. The complainants were able to register a complaint via this
action by filling a specific form that included all the required details
and concerned authorities took action against the accused.

  PTCL also introduced an online complaint registration system through
which the affected were able to make a complaint by providing all the
necessary details and keep a track of their complain then.
 Federal Investigation agency (FIA) also provided an opportunity to
the citizens to file an online complaint against person involved in
corruption. Inquiry is done by them and strict action taken if found
guilty

9. Tools and Technology

Equipment won't be a significant need of this task. Just PCs for building
up the product and testing the product will be required. Programming or IDEs will
be required for the advancement and assembling of the product. When the
procedure is finished a test form will be produced. This will be for the utilization
of a restricted crowd. When the entire errand is finished and the test outcomes are
sufficient. Additionally, in the event that it completely fulfills the quality
guidelines. At that point just it will be discharged for the utilization of the general
population.
