GRAMMAR OBJECTIVE: STUDYING AND PRACTICING SOME PHRASES TO EXPRESS IDEAS OR

OPINIONS WHEN TALKING OR WRITING ABOUT ANYTHING.

TOPIC: THE PLANET

See these videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3i21my22C8I and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaFRheiGED0 , then think about these questions: What do
you think about the song? Is the human destroying the Planet? Do you find any relation between
the song and the reality we are living now? If so, what is it? How can we solve the problem? Do
you think people will change their lifestyles after the quarantine?

ACTIVITY/ASIGNACIÓN: Based on the videos and the questions above, give your opinion in
English about the topic. Don’t forget to use the phrases studied to express your ideas: t here are 5
options (choose one or two) to give your opinion. Be creative, original and DON'T COPY! You
have 8 days to upload your activity in EDMODO.

SOLUTION
1. What do you think about the song?
The song sounds like the domination of everything it sees in its path.
2. Is the human destroying the Planet?
Yes, because the planet offers many things but man is not satisfied so he consumes more
and more and makes the planet fall apart little by little.
3. Do you find any relation between the song and the reality we are living now? If so, what is
it?
The representation of the decadent being that has created the consumerist ideology that
the human being assumes throughout its history. Contemplate the environment that
surrounds you as a product at your entire disposal, to satisfy all your needs, thus
demonstrating its fragility since you feel obliged to cover such a condition after a
devastating veil that causes the decline of the world, apparently, not to leave vestiges of
its presence for future generations.
4. How can we solve the problem?
-Replant your consumption rate
-Think about the image you project
-Learn to look for cheap and good things
Consumption as a concept does not refer to anything bad or harmful. We can define it as
the simple fact of consuming to satisfy needs or desires. The problem comes when this
activity becomes addicted. So we are no longer talking about ‘consumption’, but about
‘consumerism’. Defines consumerism as "the immoderate tendency to acquire, spend or
consume goods, not always necessary."
5. Do you think people will change their lifestyles after the quarantine?
The pandemic will not change anything I do not think that many things will change forever
and I wish that people would stop saying it based on whole weeks of isolation and social
distancing where it leads us to reflect and change our attitude due to an enclosure.
