Abstract:
For the detection and the quantification of macroloid pharmaceutical such as Ivermectin and
Abamectin, only few studies reported the ability to their detection in bovine milk using liquid
chromatography analytical methods. However there are no studies determined the difference
between these two drugs before their uptake because they are nearly similar in most of analytical
characterization. This makes the pharmaceutical companies producing ivermectin which is low-
cost active materials and weak bio-efficiency and commercializes it rather than the production of
abamectin which is higher expensive active and effective ingredients based on the lack of effective
and practical analysis methods that can distinguish between these active pharmaceutical compounds
due to their similar in molecular structure. In this study, a new and effective approach to distinguish
between similar Ivermectin and Abamectin to prohibit the deception in pharmaceutical industry
was investigated. The gold nanoparticles were prepared through photoextracellular synthetic
approach and conjugate with a fluorescent material that composed of a silyl derivative of 1-napthol.
It was observed that a clear difference between the two active ingredients was observed easily by
UV-Vis absorption spectra which proved the availability and success of the new method to the
differentiation between Ivermectin and Abamectin as a clear, easy and effective approach. The use
of nanotechnology in this way is more practical than the known current methods, cheaper, the
results obtained in shorter time and more accurate.
