This 2nd Annual Healthcare Summit brings together a diverse group of high-profile global
thought leaders from business, government, healthcare, industry, and education to the nation’s
heartland. The agenda features stimulating, cutting-edge presentations and interactive dialogue
designed to advance high impact leadership, collaboration and innovation in the global economy.
The Summit culminates with the 12th Anniversary Passage to India dinner and celebration held
that evening at the Peoria Civic Center.

Topic: “Rethinking Health Care Business Model for the Emerging On-
Demand Digital Economy”

Patricia (Trish) Birch leads Cognizant’s Healthcare consulting practice


serving providers, payers, pharmacy benefit managers, public sector
organizations, and other companies serving the healthcare industry. Trish joined Cognizant in 2010
and has more than three decades of experience in operations and management consulting -
including seven years as a C- level operations and information technology executive, 15 years as a
consulting managing partner, and 10 years as a member of the board of trustees for a large
healthcare system. She is also a published author and speaker on issues facing the industry.

Deepak Gaddipati, Founder and CTO, VirtuSense Technologies

Topic: “Fixing Healthcare Crisis: One Employee at a Time”

Currently, Deepak is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of VirtuSense


Technologies, a company focused on wellness and injury prevention for employees,
athletes, and older adults. Deepak Gaddipati is a technology executive with clear
business insights whose passion is to fix healthcare. He acquired peerless expertise in machine vision,
deep-learning, while developing the first commercial full-body, automated scanning system that is widely
deployed across most U.S. airports. Furthermore, he led the Peoria Robotics research group to develop
medical simulation technology for Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center, a division of the
U.S. Army.

Kris Hansen, CEO, Western Home Services

Topic: “Inno-Ruption of the Ages”

Kris Hansen, CPA, is CEO of Western Home Services, which operates a life
plan community serving 1,000 residents in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and manages
several other communities around the state. Those communities serve an
additional 750+ residents and clients. Kris currently serves on the Not-for-
Profit Council with the American Health Care Association and on the President’s Council for
Amerigroup, a Medicaid managed care organization in Iowa. He is also chair of Legislative Policy
and Medicaid Reimbursement for the IHCA. He has served as chair of LeadingAge Iowa’s board of
directors, as well as chair of their Public Policy Committee. He also serves as co-chair of the
Innovators Alliance for not-for-profit providers around the country.
Chris Massouras, Principal, Ernst & Young

Topic: “How Intelligent Automation is driving disruption across Healthcare”

As a principal at Ernst & Young’s Advisory Services practice, Chris has more
than 18 years of consulting experience specializing in leading large business
and IT transformations. Chris serves as Ernst & Young’s Complex Program
Management leader for the Americas responsible for managing over 150 resources focused on the
successful execution of large complex transformational programs. Chris serves as EY's Healthcare
Intelligent Automation leader for the Americas focused on driving business process optimization
through the use of automation.

Deepak Nair, MD, University of Illinois College of Medicine

Topic: “Innovations in Neuroscience: A 3-model Approach”

Dr. Nair is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University Of


Illinois College Of Medicine At Peoria. He completed his Fellowship in Stroke
and Cerebral Vascular disease in 2011, and he is board certified in both
Neurology and Neurocritical Care. Dr. Nair manages the Neuroscience Critical
Care Unit at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, which was the 2 nd Joint Commission certified
Comprehensive Stroke Center in the nation. He is proud to have been part of the team responsible
for the first ever 5-minute door to needle time on a thrombolytic stroke case.

Harish Pai, Senior Vice President and CTO, Business Technology Solutions

Topic: “Using Zyter for Enhanced Patient Engagement”

As SVP and CTO for Business Technology Solutions, Harish Pai is responsible
for technology, Centers of Excellence, Architecture and Business
Solutions. Over the last 22 years, Mr. Pai worked with global technology
companies and System Integrators including Microsoft, Satyam Computers
and NIIT. Mr. Pai comes with a strong background in technology consulting, conceptualizing IT
solutions to business issues with experience in Healthcare, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail and
Public Sector.

Sheri L Rose, CEO of Thrive Center, Inc. and Partner at Commonwealth


Leverage LLC

Topic: “The Longevity Economy-Disruptive Innovation in Aging”

Sheri Rose is the CEO/Executive Director of the Thrive Center, a nonprofit


innovation center focused on wellness and aging. She is also a partner at
Commonwealth Leverage LLC, a healthcare professional consulting firm. Sheri
previously held positions with AT&T, as Director of Sales & Regulatory. She
also serves as President of the Metropolitan Louisville Women’s Political
Caucus and has a B.A and M.Ed. in Psychology from the University of
Louisville.
Jayaraj Salimath, D.O., F.A.C.O.S., F.A.S.M.B.S.

Topic: “Influence of Technology on Practice of Medicine and Surgery”

Dr. Jayaraj Salimath joined Mid Illini Surgical Associates in 2007 upon
completion of a Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. A
board Certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of
Osteopathic Surgery, Dr. Salimath also has a degree in nursing. He received his Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University where he also completed his internship. His
general surgery residency was completed at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Michigan. He is a
Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.

Jordan Weiss

Topic: “Inhaled Nitric Oxide: A Revolutionary Change in the Treatment of


PPHN”

Jordan Weiss has been a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) professional
for over 19 years. Her work for surfactant and inhaled nitric oxide has taken
her throughout the Midwest. In addition, Weiss has more than 20 years of
experience in respiratory disease states. She resides in the greater Chicago
area.
