energy, Semi empirical mass formula, Accelerator and Detector, Liquid drop model,
collective model, shell model, magic numbers Nuclear Reaction: Conservation principles in
nuclear reactions, Q-values and thresholds, nuclear reaction cross sections

3. Natural and artificial radioactivity, Units of radio activity, radioactive decay laws and
radioactive dating Nuclear Decay: Alpha decay, Geiger Nuttall Law Beta Decay, Fission
and Fusion

4. Classification of fundamental forces, Elementry particles (quarks, baryons, mesons,


leptons); Spin and parity assignments, iso spin, strangeness; Gellmann- Nishijima formula
