AMF-Bruns considers the safety of wheelchair users of paramount importance. This safety is key in all
product and system innovations. AMF-Bruns has a well-equipped in-house test centre that is suitable
for research and approval tests. Smartfloor floors are M1 certified according to UN/ECE R14, R16 and R17
for all major bus vehicle models. AMF-Bruns wheelchair fastening systems comply with all international
standards, the DIN 75078, I & II as well as the ISO 10542 standard. The key starting point is to VEHICLE
MODEL sure the installation is done in line with AMF-Bruns instructions. Never forget: ‘safety first’!

2 The swivel lift BSL 350 is the classic of the AMF-Bruns product range. The BSL 350 requires little space
behind the vehicle, since it can be accessed directly from the pavemen. This allows it to be swung in and
3 out even in tight traffic conditions. The BSL 350 can be swivelled through 90° twice. The platform of this
sturdy and durable swivel lift is powered hydraulically, with the lowering operation being carried out under
its own weight.

THE SLIM AMF-BRUNS CASSETTE LIFT FOR THE SIDE LOADING DOOR 1
The cassette lift is installed underneath the vehicle floor in order to make the best possible use of 2
the available space within the vehicle. The cassette lift can be installed at the side of the vehicle. The
cassette lift K90 is only suitable for installation in passenger transport vans such as Volkswagen T6 and

2 The AMF-Bruns K90 ACTIVE lift is a high-quality cassette lift for active and independent wheelchair users.
Narrow parking spaces are no longer an obstacle, thanks to a platform width of less than 70 cm on the

3 UPPER ANCHORAGE POINTS

All AMF-Bruns occupant restraint systems – whether static or automatic shoulder belts in combina-
4 tion with a separate pelvis belt or integrated 3 point belt – have been tested with 24.5 kN forwards and
8.2 kN backwards. AMF-Bruns has developed and produces unique assembly kits for each vehicle. The
5 pull tests are carried out in our own test centre in cooperation with TÜV. The assembly kits are compatible
with all AMF-Bruns restraint systems.

AMF-Bruns PROTEKTOR® wheelchair and occupant restraint system fulfills the new EU Directive 2007/46/
7 EG which came into force on 1st November 2014.
ATTENTION!
8 The vehicle manufacturer’s body fitting guidelines must be adhered to and AMF-Bruns original parts need
to be used for the installation!

The AMF-Bruns adapter system PROSAFE is tested acc. to DIN 75078-2 / ISO 10542-2 regardless of
the wheelchair. The wheelchair test acc. to DIN 75078-2 / ISO 7176-19 is the responsibility of wheelchair
manufacturers. Wheelchair adapter systems still provide the extra maximum of safety, but are only
allowed wheelchairs which had been tested with 20 G by the manufacturers.
Wheelchairs with a total weight of more than 25 kg are equipped

with heavy duty eyelets as standard. They fullfil the ISO 7176-19.
The function of the integrated lap belt system remains completely
retained. The AMF-Bruns solution is available to a total wheelchair
weight of maximum 160 kg and is only tested and approved in
conjunction with the AMF-Bruns PROTEKTOR® system.

2 When required the ramps are positioned on the edge of the vehicle door. Roll the wheelchair over the
ramps into the vehicle. This can be an empty wheelchair as well as one carrying an occupant. When not
needed, the telescopic Aluminium ramps can be conveniently stored in the vehicle. It should be noted

that the ramps are extremely light and can be carried in much the same way, for example, as a carrier
bag by the handles on the side.

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
All fitting must be carried out in accordance with the local standards and the Altro Transflor installation

manual.
Sub-floor and adhesives are in accordance with the recommendations in the Altro Transflor installation

manual (see also www.altrotransflor.com).

Note: failure to comply with the Altro Transflor installation instructions can lead to reduced performance
and slip resistance of the floor. The floor must be thoroughly cleaned before delivery and protected during

other work.
Altro Transflor Meta and Chroma are not suited for spaces in which it is allowed to smoke, as the risk of 11
burning cigarettes compromising the floor is too high.

CHOICE OF COLOUR
When choosing the colour of the Altro Transflor floor, the volume of traffic in the room must be taken into

AMF-Bruns is the leading supplier of lifts, wheelchair and occupant restraint systems, system floors
and related products for the conversion of accessible vehicles in Europe. This leading position is both
4 a responsibility and a motivation for AMF-Bruns to ensure that all aspects of its products, which have
quality and safety implications, are subject to the strictest of controls. All production work is completed
5 in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. In addition, all lifts and ramps which the company delivers are
TÜV-tested in 20 G front-on vehicle crashes.

All AMF-Bruns products offer a high level of safety. Vehicle floors equipped with the Smartfloor meet all
7 safety requirements of the stringent EU directives such as UN/ECE R14, R16, R17, ISO 10542 and DIN
75078. All surfaces which may present a slip hazard in the vehicle comply with slip resistance class R11.
8 All electric components are subjected to thorough EMC tests and are approved by the German Federal
Office for Motor Vehicles (KBA).

In order to further improve safety and protection for people with mobility restrictions, AMF-Bruns suc-
cessfully works in cooperation with competent partners such as TÜV Nord, TÜV Rheinland, BASt, UTAC

(France), AIB Vinçotte (Belgium), Status (United Kingdom), RDW Holland, all vehicle manufacturers and
the German Federal Office for Motor Vehicles (KBA).

AMF-Bruns have been at the forefront of product safety with an operational in house accredited test cen-
12 tre since ten years – in cooperation with the Dutch RDW and German TÜV or the British VCA. Expansion
in to a purpose built facility will provide a modern and innovative research & development centre in Apen,
Germany.
The new founded, AMF-Bruns Research & Development Company, is planning a centre of excellence
for comprehensive research, safety tests and product development. Focus for the new company will be
the operation of dynamic and static tests for internal and external use. Here, vehicle body manufacturers
and manufacturers of harness systems, child seats as well as test organisations, can test and develop
the safety of their products.
TÜV Nord will be on-site as technical service for European type approvals or any other kind of test docu-
ments. Opening of the new test centre will be in summer 2020.
