Philosophy of Education

When I was in high school, I absolutely loved going on field trips, and doing hands on

activities. I loved seeing the things that the teachers were talking about with my own eyes. I

really liked being able to touch, feel, smell and see the thing they were talking about. It gave me

a close up, in depth experience that I could not have gotten if I would have done a written

assignment.

We all want to become teacher, because we want to try our very best to help the

oncoming generations succeed. We also want to help them become the very best that they

possibly can. We want to produce students that have a mindset of never giving up. If we let

students use their imaginations and think outside the box, we can set them up for a great future.

We do not want to teach our future generations that poor is poor or rich is rich, because there is

always a bigger and better picture to it. We need to teach our students to look at the world and

situations and analyze them and come up with their own way of looking at things and solving the

problem.

I do not believe my tools on evaluating students will be much different than now,

because as much as I would love to do away with the tests and grades, that is not possible at all.

These students will be faced with so many tests and will be graded on almost everything

throughout their lives. I think if we approach testing and grading in a different manner, and act

like the tests, and grades do not define them, then students will not fear them as much as they do

now, and they will be able to really show what they have learned.

The basic curriculum is still very important to our students, but I think if we approach

these subjects from a different perspective that we will be able to teach our kids not only the

basics, but also how to apply them to everyday life and real world situations. In the classroom,

confidence and communication is something that needs to be taught to each and every student.

I think that teachers need to take a-hands on approach in teaching because by trying to

come up with different ways to learn inside and outside the classrooms. In my classroom, I plan

on trying to find multiple ways to include all of my students, and make sure they are all learning

the lessons. I think students should learn things through the through involvement with me and

with their peers. I like to put a little bit of reading in my lessons so that they can work on their

vocabulary, but I also like to add some pictures too. I feel that if I add pictures in my lessons,

that the students will see the pictures and it will make them more interested instead of reading a

huge, long paragraph.

The environment in the classrooms is very important, because we want our kids to be

happy in our classrooms. If we keep our rooms colorful and have lots of cool looking things, that

keeps them interested, and comfortable. I also believe that classrooms should be safe

environment for our kids. I think that the schools should be responsible for helping make sure

that the kids get all of their supplies in order for the kids to have a safe, comfortable, and

successful year.
