WE ARE BACK!

We understand that as the number of COVID-19

cases increase, you are filled with a lot of
anxiety about visiting the salon. We have taken
a number of precautions to ensure your safety.

In addition to current safety precautions that

we currently have in place, we are also
sanitizing with disinfectants after each client
by wiping all chairs and surfaces the client
might have touched while in the salon.

We have a sanitary maintenance area where we

put all used combs, used wipes and tools for
later disinfection and cleaning. For cleaning, we
use hot water, soap and an antiseptic for
disinfecting after which we put them in a U.V
sterilizer. For larger tools, we use rubbing
alcohol to wipe them down after each client.

Due to the large and spacious nature of our

facilities, we are able to have a maximum
number of 10 people in a room while
maintaining social distancing. Even though we
encourage booking appointments, our salons
allow for walk in services as well.

KNOWING YOUR OILS

Oils are a huge feature of the natural hair journey. There are so many to choose from that sometimes
it becomes a little confusing. Here we make things easy for you by explaining the different types of
oils and what they can be used for. Basically, there are two kinds of oils. Essential oils and carrier oils.
Essential oils are concentrated oils made from a variety of plant and tree parts, like leaves, roots,
flowers, seeds, bark, wood, resin, and fruit. Carrier oils are mostly derived from nuts and are
sometimes referred to as vegetable oils.

Due to the fact that essential oils are very concentrated, they need to be diluted before use. Carrier
oils are therefore used to carry them as essential oils on their own are too strong to use. In addition,
essential oils are very aromatic while carrier oils are rather bland therefore mixing a few drops of an
essential oil with a carrier oil  might also help in improving smell. Carrier oils are however good to use
on their own without any dilution.

Some examples of essential oils are Lemon, Rosemary, Grapeseed, Geranium, Peppermint, Tea Tree
Oil etc

Some examples of carrier oils are Coconut, Almond, Castor, Shea, Moringa, Boabab, Argan, Jojoba,
Olive, Neem Oil, Hemp Seed oils etc. These oils are great in moisturizing hair and will help you
achieve soft manageable hair. For more details on specific oils, please click on this link.

We have carrier oils  from Earthseed in stock.

STYLE INSPIRATION

Miss Vee has been a natural girl for as long

as we can remember. She stuns on the
cover of her latest single #WhoAreYou in
what appears to be her spin on traditional
African threading.

Instead of using threads to wrap the hair

like is done in the traditional method, kinky
hair extensions were used to wrap the hair,
leaving tufts of hair at the end. This style is
almost like unfinished faux locs.

This is beautiful and you you should

definitely give it a try. Remember to keep
your ends moisturized.
