1. List 10 suggestions that Cameron Herald has for schools and parents to
encourage children to develop entrepreneurial traits.
- Allowances breed kids to want a regular paycheck
- Instead let the kids find jobs to be done and negotiate payment
- Don’t waste any money (not $0.01 or even $0.005)
- Develop budgeting (50% house account, 50% toy account) - Lots of Saving!
- Don’t read bedtime stories every night - maybe for 4 nights and get them to tell
stories 3 of the nights (teaches them to sell, creativity, etc)
- Get kids to stand up in front of people and talk (good traits)

After listening to the two interviews, choose ONE characteristic you feel is the most
important for a successful entrepreneur. Explain why you made your choice.
I understand many of the factors that are important for a successful entrepreneur,
although I would like to talk about a characteristic that was different from my original
thought; not necessarily the most important characteristic to be successful, but I believe
it is the most important characteristic in today’s world. I’d like to reference Penn’s
comment, “I feel I'm part of the new wave of entrepreneurs that not only seeks to have a
successful business, but also a sustainable future. I feel that I can meet the needs of my
tomorrow.” Personally, I believe this act of being able to meet the needs of customers
entrepreneur. With the effects of global warming having devastating effects throughout
the world (and with them only getting worse), it is of the utmost importance that
businesses becoming more environmentally friendly. This frame of mind has to start
